Lelo Mia 2 Bullet Vibrator Review

Lelo Mia 2 Bullet Vibrator Review

Lelo Mia 2 Bullet Vibrator Review, June 2021

I was kindly sent the Lelo Mia 2 Bullet Vibrator from lovepleasure.co.uk for an honest review and I am glad I got the opportunity to review this luxury clitoral vibe.

See, if you had asked me a few years ago for an opinion on bullet vibrators, I would have wrinkled my nose and said I don’t like them much.

I have always been a bit of a power seeker and I had outgrown the sensations provided by most battery operated bullets.

They lacked the rumbling power I needed to reach orgasm and I was using We-Vibe Tango bullet, a rechargeable power-house that out-performed all the bullets I had tried previously.

Despite initial doubts, the Tango became a personal favourite (It still is) and it opened my eyes to the fact that not all sex toys are created equal. Bullets were back on my wish list and my curiosity about other luxury, rechargeable bullets piqued. The Lelo Mia 2 sat at the top of that list.

Product Information

The reason the Lelo Mia 2 topped my list, is because it comes with all the features you would expect from a high quality sex toy. It is rechargeable and the USB plug actually sits inside the bullet, which eliminates the need for cables or charging docks.

You simply unscrew the lipstick shaped cap off the Mia to expose this plug and then slot the Mia directly into a USB port to charge.

A full charge will give you roughly 90 minutes of play time, but it does depend on what settings you use. Higher speeds will drain the battery faster.

It never died on me during our half hour sessions together, but I tended to charge it after each use anyway. The Mia 2 is also completely waterproof and extremely quiet.

I could barely hear it under my duvet, even on the higher speeds, which makes it suitable for those looking for a discrete vibrator.

The Mia 2 comes with 6 different vibration settings; one constant vibration mode and 5 patterns, including pulses and waves.

In each mode, including the constant vibration mode, you can vary the speed/intensity of the vibrations by using the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons. There is a wide range of speeds to choose from, from an almost imperceptible flutter, right through to a powerful, rumbling vibration.

The Mia measures 4.25 inches in total length, from tip to tip and has a circumference of 2.25 inches, which makes it one of the larger bullets in my collection (compared to standard sized bullets and not taking into account oversized/giant bullets). It is made from plastic and comes in 3 colour options; pink, purple and black.

Just like all Lelo sex toys, the Mia 2 arrived in beautiful packaging, including a solid, discreet black box that is ideal for long term storage. (I seem to remember reading that Lelo have won awards for their packaging and I can see why. It oozes luxury and sophistication). The Mia also comes with a small satin storage bag and a sample sachet of Lelo’s water based lubricant.

My Experiences With The Lelo Mia 2

After fully charging the Mia and reassembling the bullet (not always a quick and easy task, especially with the lights down low. It always takes me a couple of attempts to align the pins and screw the cap back on properly), I got down to some testing.

The Mia, being such a petite vibrator, is not suitable for insertion (especially anal), but it has been designed perfectly as a clitoral stimulator. One of the things I really liked about the Mia 2 is that it is longer than all of my other bullets, including the Tango.

Having a little extra length to hold onto makes it more comfortable to grip and manoeuvre during play. The Mia 2 also has a larger circumference compared to my other bullets, making it that little bit chubbier and ever so slightly less pin-point during use.

I wasn’t so keen on this aspect and would personally prefer it to be a little thinner. Thankfully, it was still pin-point enough to fit comfortably between my labia and the smooth, shiny plastic would glide effortlessly over my skin.

As a power seeker, I most often turn my vibrators up to the highest continual speed pattern, as the lower settings are often not enough. There are only a few exceptions to this rule and the We-Vibe Tango bullet is one of them. I wanted to see if the Mia would be another.

I turned the Mia onto its lowest speed setting and I could tell immediately that it would do nothing for me. I was right. It felt like a gentle flutter against my clitoris, barely awaking my arousal, let alone building me towards orgasm.

Still, I wasn’t perturbed. I might enjoy having my clitoris thumped into submission, but not everyone does and I know some women find the lowest speed on the We-Vibe Tango to be too intense. The fact that the Mia 2 provides a broad range of sensations, including gentle ones, is great news.

Me however, I knew I needed more, so I turned the Mia 2 up to its highest continuous vibration speed and tried again. From the moment it touched my clitoris, I knew that the Mia was not going to compete with the Tango in terms of depth and intensity.

I grabbed my Tango and began comparing the two bullets side-by-side, noting that the Tango’s vibrations felt stronger and travelled deeper into the clitoral tissue.

Did this mean that the Mia 2 was a let down? Not at all. To prove my theory I decided next to compare the Mia alongside my battery operated bullet vibrators (The ones I had given up on years ago). The Mia 2 stood out immediately, producing a noticeably higher quality vibration.

It did not feel buzzy, numbing or irritatingly shallow like those cheaper bullets did. It felt enjoyable, producing mid-depth, powerful vibrations. I could reach orgasm using the Mia and while the build up took longer (compared to the Tango) the orgasms were more prolonged.

Cleaning And Care

The Lelo Mia 2 is completely waterproof, which means you can use it in the shower or bath, but due to the fact it opens up for charging, you need to ensure the cap is screwed on correctly before submerging. The Mia is made entirely out of plastic, which makes it compatible with any lubricant base and really easy to clean. It also helps that it comes with storage options (the box or the pouch) to help keep it clean and scratch-free between uses.

Summary

If I had reviewed the Mia 2 a year ago, I would be raving right now about how fantastic it feels, compared to the battery operated bullets in my collection. Seriously, it is a good vibrator, but unfortunately for the Mia 2, I own the We-Vibe Tango bullet and it has become the yardstick with which I measure all other bullets.

Yes, the Mia 2 has given me some fantastic, slow build orgasms, but orgasm was not always a guarantee. The Mia became what I would describe as a “fair weather” vibrator, providing orgasms so long as my body didn’t resist, but failing me on those nights when I felt tired or a bit numb for whatever reason. On those nights, I would find myself reaching for the Tango instead. The Mia was good, but it didn’t blow my socks off.

Does that mean I wouldn’t recommend it to others? Not at all; in fact I would be more inclined to recommend the Mia 2 to women (and men) who prefer a gentler sensation, or those who found the Tango too intense. The Mia 2 offers a very broad range of sensations and comes with the features you would expect from luxury vibrators, such as being rechargeable and waterproof.

It would make a fantastic beginner’s vibrator due to this and the fact that it is so discreet and unintimidating. However, the power seekers among you (Those whose mantra is stronger, harder, faster) may wish to skip the Lelo Mia 2 and take a look at the We-Vibe Tango instead.
