Aneros Progasm Review

With the sex toy industry being the vast and wide ocean that it is, there is no shortage of new and innovative ways to give and receive sexual pleasure.

There is a wide selection of toys and products to choose from, and the many variations within each product is even wider still.

With companies repeatedly competing against each other to master the ancient art of sexual pleasure, it goes without saying that my life as a sex toy enthusiast is a fun one--each toy just gets better!

When it comes to anal toys, I’ll admit that my partner and I are still at an intermediate level instead of even being close to experts. As much as I know about how the toys work and although I have used all of the ones I have reviewed, anal play for us is more of a special occasion activity, and is certainly not as frequent or regular as vaginal or oral play.

Full disclosure, anal toys with great length doesn’t do me any favours (I am on the smaller side), so I typically don’t use the full length of toys longer than 4 inches or so. When it comes to my partner, it’s pretty much the same thing.

Regardless of this, in any case the Aneros Progasm is a toy that brought my partner some deep and wholesome orgasms, given its ease of use, good size and amazing function. It required a lot of warming up and tons of lube, but I’ll get into those details later on.

If you want to know more about this amazing prostate simulator, read on! I’ll review every aspect of the Aneros, starting with a brief history of the toy, what it is and what it does, its dimensions, packing and maintenance, how to use it, and of course, mine and my partner’s personal thoughts.

This is a pretty remarkable toy, so let’s dive right in! All observations about the Aneros Progasm’s feelings are from my partner’s perspective after 4 consecutive uses of the toy.

Aneros Progasm - What is it & How Does it Work?

As a prostate massager, although the Aneros Progasm is one of the best in the markets right now, it is not the first of its kind. Prostate massaging has been around for decades and usually involves the skill and delicateness of another person; however, with Aneros products like the Progasm, men are able to self-administer the pleasurable massage with significant levels of comfort and of course, pleasure.

After insertion, the Progasm’s design uses a self-pivoting mechanism that stimulate the prostate with help from anal kegal exercises. There are different types of pleasure working together: internally, the Progasm slowly penetrates deeper due to anal muscles contracting; externally, the toy’s design rubs against the perineum, combining for a truly heavenly experience.

I’ll talk about the design and its dimensions later on, but what you need to know is that the Aneros Progasm is a great toy for sexual health all around. It gradually strengthens your pelvic floor muscles and PC sphincter muscles, which results in better ejaculation control and sexual performance. If used regularly, the Progasm gets better with each use as it builds upon the previous session’s success. You will be able to insert it deeper and really explore your own sexual curiosity.

During sex, the Progasm is a fantastic complementary toy because your thrusting motions will automatically cause the toy to rub against your prostate--it’s like having sex and receiving anal at the same time. Needless to say, when you cum and your body tenses up during your finish, the prostate stimulation results in an even stronger and otherworldly orgasm.

Aneros Progasm Specs and Dimensions

At first glance, the Progasm looks like an upside down letter T that is ribbed and curved to the left, while the bottom parts are curved upwards. That middle piece is meant to be inserted into your anus, while the curved sides are intended to rub against your perineum.

The prostate massager comes exclusively in black, and it’s entirely made of ABS plastic. In my opinion, any anal toy in black is ideal and classy in the sense that it’s meant for business and not display. In terms of appearance, it doesn’t look too remarkable or luxurious: it’s quite literally a hard piece of ABS plastic--no fancy material changes, no handles or flexible and retractable components.

When it comes to appearance, the Progasm can be a little intimidating once you realize where it’s going to go. The insertion part has two bulges and three thinner components--you would insert the toy past the bulge and rest it on the thinner parts, slowly going deeper as much as your body can accommodate.

The tip width measures at 1.15 inches, the head itself measures at 1.25 inches wide, while the middle bulge measures at 1.25 inches wide. The distance from the stem to the perineum is 1.52 inches, and the length of the entire insertable length is 4.2 inches.

Once you order it, the Progasm comes in a pretty simplistic box, as there are two flaps to cover it, the toy itself and an instruction manual. Because the toy is not electric, there are no wires, batteries or recharging required, which makes the toy easily accessible for whenever the desire to use it comes along. It can also be waterproof, but because lots of lube would be required, waterplay is not recommended.

In terms of cleanup, due to the toy being made entirely of ABS plastic, maintenance and cleanup are so simple and can be done in 4 simple steps. With warm water running, be sure to thoroughly soak the toy before using a mild body wash to lather on all parts of the toy to ensure cleanliness.

Give it a thorough rinse to wash out all the soap, and then let it air dry completely. You can pack it away in the same back--if you find it to be too large and cumbersome, the Progasm can be stored anywhere--although you may be limited in possible areas due to its unique Y-like shape.

Using the Aneros Progasm

As mentioned earlier, my partner and I are by no means experts at anal toys, so we took things very slow with this one. We used the Aneros Progasm 4 consecutive times, slowly going deeper with each try.

Because this is a prostate massager, it’s important to not treat your Progasm like a toy meant to be inserted repeatedly--it is meant for insertion once, and then letting your sphincter muscles naturally contract against the toy, completely hands free. When using it on my partner, all I really had to do was assist him for insertion.

After applying a generous amount of lube, make sure that you or your partner (whoever is receiving the toy) is completely relaxed and able to take the toy without discomfort. Also make sure to note which way the toy goes in, which should be with the tip pointing downwards, as if it is pointing to your balls.

Once you slowly guide the Progasm in, you’ll notice that the anal muscles to the rest--they will drag the toy in. Once it’s in there, it’s important to relax and slowly contract your muscles. When your partner is ready, you can help gude the toy deeper.

If inserted correctly, the two tabs on either side have different purposes. The perineum tab will apply pressure to the perineum and give a slight massage like sensation to give external pleasure in addition to what’s going on internally.

The second tab is called the kundalini tab, which rests between your anus and on top of the butt crack. The purpose here is to give a slight tingling sensation up the spine. My partner occasionally felt this, but he had to really concentrate.

In terms of orgasm, my partner felt that the Progasm significantly enhanced his climax, as on top of ejaculation from regular vaginal sex, his body clenched with the Progasm already inside him, causing the toy to rub his prostate in all the right ways.

Final Thoughts on the Aneros Progasm

As intermediate connoisseurs of the anal toy market, my partner and I found the Progasm to be a welcome addition to our sex lives.

Admittedly, our anal play is still limited to special occasions as of now, but with products like this, there is definitely a bigger desire to increase our regularity.

For the toy itself, we found it to be designed very smartly and the cleanup and maintenance were so simple. The design makes it easy to receive hands free pleasure while having sex as well; for solo play, it is easy to use and you can definitely ferk off while it’s inside you.

Whether you are looking to please yourself or you are using the toy in combination with having partnered sex, the Aneros Progasm is a great toy for to have at the ready.
