Yes Water Based Lubricant Review

Yes Water Based Lubricant Review June 2021

Table Of Contents

I was kindly sent a bottle of Yes Water Based Lubricant from ingredients policy. This is the kind of information consumers need and kudos to Yes for providing this information and ensuring they stick to safe ingredients.

This is the ingredients list for Yes Water based Lubricant:

Aqua (water), Aloe barbadensis (Aloe vera), Cyamopsis tetragonolobus (Guar Gum), Ceratonia siliqua (Locust Bean Gum), Linum usitatissimum (Flax extract), Phenoxyethanol, Potassium sorbate, Xanthan Gum, Citric acid.

It is impressive, and refreshing, to see an ingredients list that is organic and free from parabens, glycerin, aspartame and other nasty things that can cause irritation, infection or drying of the mucous membranes.

In Use

Yes Water based Lubricant is a reasonably thin, watery, slightly cloudy lubricant. When I apply it to the back of my hand, it will trickle down to my wrist reasonably fast. It is thinner than pretty much all the lubricants I have to compare it to, including Swoon Lubricant.

I usually avoid runny water based lubricants for two reasons, 1) They don’t seem to last long before needing reapplied and 2) They often do not provide an adequate, slick, thick buffer between skin and sex toy, so I was not surprised to discover that using Yes Water based Lubricant for anal sex, or with large, highly textured sex toys, left me feeling a little chafed and sore. This is simply not a heavy duty lubricant.

It does however, last a reasonable amount of time before needing reactivated or reapplied, so although Yes Water based Lubricant was not suitable for heavy duty use, it was certainly comparable to some of my favourite lubricants when it comes to standard play, including vagina/penis penetration, or for use with smaller sex toys, and of course, for reducing friction and discomfort during clitoral stimulation with fingers or vibrators.

Because this is a water based lubricant, it is very versatile, being safe to use with condoms and diaphragms, as well as being safe to use with silicone sex toys. It can be used for any sexual play but  as with almost all water based lubricants I have ever tried, Yes Lube does have a slightly bitter, soapy taste. It is quite mild though, compared to other brands. My partner commented that he could taste it during oral sex, which was slightly distracting for him, but it wasn’t disgusting or off putting either.

Summary

I have a few issues with Yes Water based Lubricant. Mainly that it isn’t great for heavy duty use and that it isn’t the best lubricant to slap on your bits if you fancy following up with some oral sex afterwards (But then again, all water based lubricants taste a little funky to me, so this isn’t unique to Yes Lubricant.)

However, this lubricant functioned well for standard use, like masturbation and vagina/penis penetration and because this product has been produced without any nasty ingredients, making it one of the most body safe lubricants available, I would recommend it. Yes Oil Based Lubricant was kindly sent to me free of charge by yesyesyes.org for an honest review. This does not affect, or sway my opinions of the product and I will always portray my own experiences, good or bad.
