The We-Vibe Touch Has Been Upgraded (Review)

The We-Vibe Touch Has Been Upgraded June 2021

I was kindly sent the We-Vibe also upgraded the Tango (a bullet vibrator) for the better recently.

I admire companies who listen to feedback, support customers and constantly strive to produce the best sex toys on the market. We-Vibe is one such company.

As soon as I got down to testing the new We-Vibe Touch, I realised that it still contained many of the things I had loved so much about the first version

It has the same motor, with four constant vibration settings and 3 pattern settings, which means that the new Touch comes with the same gloriously deep, powerful vibrations that the first edition did.

These vibrations rarely fail to take me to orgasm. The new version still operates in the same way too, using a single push button to control the functions and cycle through the settings. The new Touch, just like the old, is quiet, waterproof and has exactly the same shape and size, so what had changed?

Changes To The We-Vibe Touch (New Version)

The Silicone

You may remember that the silicone used to create the first version of the We-Vibe Touch was the shiny, draggy variety (very similar to the silicone used to create the Lelo silicone.

Both the We-Vibe Tango bullet and the We-Vibe Touch vibrator contain the same motor and so both produce those powerful, rumbling vibrations.

However, the Tango has always been known for providing the most intense sensations, because the Touch’s vibrations were muted, or dampened slightly as they travelled through the silicone.

Fortunately for me, this dampening effect was not severe enough to lower my opinion on the Touch.

It was powerful enough and rumbling enough to take me to orgasm almost every time I used it, which is something I can’t say about most petite clitoral vibrators (I am a power seeker).

I did wonder if the changes made to the silicone would affect the strength and depth to the vibrations, so I charged both the old and the new We-Vibe Touch to full and had a play session where I compared them side by side.

My eventual verdict was that I actually felt slightly more sensation from the old Touch vibrator, which really surprised me as I was expecting to feel more through the new, silky silicone.

I eventually came to the conclusion that the reason for this was that the old silicone created more drag against my skin, thereby increasing the friction and the sensation. Overall though, there was really very little in it and both the old and the new Touch were capable of taking me to orgasm easily.

The Magnetic Charger

Another change made to the new version of the Touch, is that We-Vibe have changed the design of their charger.

The Touch (and Tango) vibrator contains two tiny magnetic pins in the base and these pins magnetically attract to the two magnets on the charger.

Obviously both magnets need to attract firmly to maintain a connection and charge, but the old, round chargers seemed to disconnect from the toy quite often.

The reason this happened is that the old charger was round, so it would roll around on a flat surface if nudged and that would break the connection.

The new version Touch comes with a rectangular shaped charger which does not roll around on my desk.

Also, in the new version of the Touch (and Tango) the two magnetic studs at the base of the vibrators have been raised and now stick out from the base about 100% more than they did in the previous versions.

This has created (in my opinion) a stronger magnetic attraction and so the chargers no longer disconnect from the toy with the slightest nudge. Of course, it will still disconnect with harder knocks, but it has definitely been improved a lot.

Low Power Indicator

The final change made to the new version Touch (and Tango) is that it now comes with a low battery warning indicator. When the battery is running low and your Touch is in need of a charge, a light will begin blinking on the base of the Touch.

The old versions did not have this feature and it can be a blessing and a curse. Yes, the light will warn you when your toy needs to be charged, but if, like me, you tend to indulge in long masturbation sessions, you will probably notice that the light begins to flash after almost every use.

This is either caused by the fact that I almost drain the battery each time (The battery can run for up to two hours on a full charge, but this time is reduced if you use the more powerful settings, which I tend to do), or the low battery indicator switches on too early. Either way, it can sometimes distract me mid masturbation session. This is the only change that I feel ambivalent about.

Aside from the new colour choices, the above changes are the only changes made to the We-Vibe Touch.

Summary

I was a big fan of the We-Vibe Touch before its recent upgrades, but the changes made have been wise ones and We-Vibe have, in my opinion, successfully improved a vibrator that was already pretty damn great to start with.

The Touch, along with the Tango still sit in my ‘favourites’ drawer, because they are among the most enjoyable clitoral vibrators I have had the pleasure to use. The newer versions have also been added to that drawer.

One year after my first experience with these We-Vibe vibrators, I am still waiting to find a vibrator I love more and I am seriously struggling to find the smallest of flaws with which I could mark it down.

If you are a power seeker, who always looks for the most powerful vibrator available, or if you mainly seek pin-point stimulation, then the We-Vibe Tango may be the better choice for you.

If you prefer something with a little more versatility, like the ability to use a toy for pin-point and broad stimulation, or the ability to choose between softer sensations and intense ones, then the We-Vibe Touch would probably be the better choice. In my opinion, the We-Vibe Touch is the perfect all-rounder for clitoral stimulation.
