Vixen Creations Leo Dildo Purple

Vixen Creations Leo Dildo Review

It isn’t often that I get the opportunity to review sex toys made by Vixen Creations, so when Uberkinky asked if I would like to review the Vixen Creations Leo silicone dildo, I jumped at the chance. Before the Leo arrived, my Vixen collection contained just two dildos; the Vixen Outlaw and the Vixen Tex. Both impressed me so much, that I became an overnight fan of this particular sex toy brand. It’s not that I am easily pleased, it’s that Vixen seem to get it just right.

Product Information:

The Vixen Leo is a semi-realistic dildo made from 100% platinum silicone. This means it is odourless, virtually non-porous and completely body safe. Just like Tantus, Vixen manufacture single-density and dual-density dildos. The Leo is a single-density dildo, created using a silicone that has the same density/firmness throughout. A dual-density dildo (e.g. the Outlaw) usually has a firmer inner core and a soft, squishy outer layer. If you are shopping for a Vixen dildo and are wondering how to tell the difference, pay attention to the product descriptions. Vixen call their dual-density silicone, “Vixskin”.

Measuring 6.75 inches in useable length, with an average circumference of 4.75 inches, the Leo is very much your standard sized dildo. In fact, it sits neatly between my Vixen Outlaw (huge) and my Vixen Tex (small) in terms of size. If you are planning on using the Leo in a strap-on harness, it is worth noting that the base of the shaft measures 5 inches. The diameter of the base is 3 inches.

My Experiences with the Vixen Leo:

The Leo was my first single-density Vixen, so I had no idea what the silicone would feel like. Would it feel firm and stiff, or soft and flexible? Would the surface feel silky or grabby? As soon as the Leo arrived, I grabbed a selection of dildos from my collection and started comparing.

When it comes to dildos, I have a strong preference for soft, flexible silicone. I was therefore thrilled to discover that, despite being a single density dildo, the Leo felt reasonably squishy. The silicone definitely feels softer than my firm Tantus dildos (e.g. The Echo, Bound and Leisure), but it isn’t the softest dildo I own. All of my Bad Dragon dildos (including those made from Bad Dragon’s firm silicone) felt squishier and more flexible. The Leo’s silicone most closely matched that of my Tantus Pack and Play No 1, which puts it somewhere in the middle (leaning slightly towards the softer end of the scale) in terms of flexibility and squish.

The softness and flexibility helps the Leo bend, squish and flex with your body, so insertion and thrusting were very comfortable (although lubricant was required to keep it that way, as the silicone produces a high amount of friction). The Leo has very little texture to its shaft, but it does have a raised coronal ridge, which creates a gentle popping sensation as it slides past my pubic bone. This popping sensation is mild, thanks again to the softer silicone.

The Leo has a slightly curved shaft, so I felt the tapered tip target my G-spot as soon as I thrust it inside. As I pushed deeper, I could feel the raised coronal ridge grabbing at my g-spot, massaging and brushing it with each thrust. I often avoid using girthy silicone dildos for g-spot jiggling, because it can leave me feeling chafed and sore. However, the Leo’s shaft is so smooth, I never experienced this discomfort. The Vixen Leo really does have its texture (and its smoothness) in all the right places. With the ridge mercilessly teasing my g-spot and the smooth shaft allowing me to thrust as hard as I wished, I was experiencing squirting orgasms in no time.

What I absolutely adore about the Leo, is that it is the perfect all-rounder. When I am not using it for intense g-spot jiggling, I am using it to thrust long and slow, enjoying the relative fullness its girth provides. The Leo’s semi-realistic feel helps to simulate penetration and when paired with my favourite clitoral vibrator, can give me some intense, blended orgasms.

It doesn’t end there either. The Leo has a round, flared base, which makes it suitable for anal play and strap-on fun. Due to its length and girth, I would only recommend the Leo to anal intermediates and above, but if you are looking for a smooth thrusting dildo, with moderate to intense prostate stimulation, the Leo might be the one for you.

The Vixen Leo has a final trick up its sleeve; it has a suction cup base for hands free thrusting. This might not be obvious at first, because Vixen (like Bad Dragon) carve a hollow into the actual base of the dildo and this forms a suction when stuck to a flat, smooth surface. I really like the simplicity of this design. Not only is it effective, it also removes the need for bulky add-ons attached to the base. The Leo’s suction cup is relatively strong too. I personally think the Bad Dragon version is stronger, but the Leo remained in place during my hands-free sessions. That’s all I could ask for really.

I didn’t come across any major downsides while testing the Leo, but like most sex toys, it wasn’t without niggles. The one issue I had was that the 6.75 inch shaft is a shade too long for me to insert fully. I can only insert approximately 6 inches before I reach my limit (vaginally) and my partner doesn’t enjoy anything longer than 5 inches for anal use. These are our personal limits (yours may be different), but there are a few minor downsides to choosing a dildo that is too long for you. We had to be careful when thrusting the Leo into each other (A bit of a disadvantage for pegging/strap-on fun) and neither of us could sink down fully onto it when taking advantage of the suction cup base.

Cleaning and Care:

Being made from 100% platinum silicone, the Vixen Leo is virtually non-porous and can be cleaned easily using hot water and antibacterial soap. If you intend to use the Leo for anal and vaginal play, you will be pleased to know that this material can be sterilized between uses. You can either wash it in a 10% bleach, 90% water solution, or soak it in boiling water.

The Leo is made from a grabby silicone that will attract a lot of dust, hair and lint. Vixen don’t supply the customer with a storage pouch, but I recommend you purchase one, if you want to A) Keep the Leo in good condition and B) Avoid getting up to wash the Leo before every wank.

Summary:

In my experience, a sex toy that tries to be good at everything, fails to excel at anything. The Vixen Leo is one of the rare exceptions to that rule. It felt smooth and comfortable, but also provides intensity where I needed it most (g-spot). It felt soft enough to thrust hard, but firm enough to apply moderate pressure when required. It provided a fullness that mimicked penetration, but wasn’t so big that its size affected my g-spot jiggling. I could use it for vaginal and anal play. Heck, I could even put it in a strap-on harness or stick it to a flat surface for hands free fun.

The versatility really impressed me, as did the overall design. The Leo’s semi-realistic shape is not too intimidating and the colour is just stunning. When you look at the Leo up close, you can see ripples and shimmers within the silicone. It is gorgeous. Of course, I was also thrilled with the material quality. With proper care, this dildo should last you a lifetime. I would definitely recommend the Vixen Leo to others. If you would prefer something even more realistic, check out my reviews for Vixens dual-density dildos or take a look at the selection of Vixen Creations products over at Uberkinky.

What a beautiful dildo! I usually don’t like anything even vaguely resembling purple but this dildo’s coloring is really pretty. And I agree with your point about BD dildos…they’ve spoiled me because now I want all “soft” dildos to be as soft as their silicone.

    Nice review 🙂

We have been spoilt! 😀 I think it is just personal taste too. I know plenty of women who adore their Pure Wands and Glass dildos. While I do love these materials for g-spot play, I always go for the softest silicone dildo I have when I just want to thrust and/or feel full up.

  1. […] Decisions, decisions! To be honest, it really depends on my mood at the time. If I am alone, I usually choose a simple-but-powerful clitoral vibrator (such as the We-vibe Tango) and a squishy silicone dildo (I love the Vixen Leo). […]
