Tantus Warm-Up Dildo Review

Tantus Warm-Up Dildo Review, June 2021

I was kindly sent the Tantus Warm Up dildo directly from tantus.inc for an impartial review.

The Warm Up, with its bulbous tip and gently curved shaft, is a dildo designed primarily for g-spot and prostate stimulation.

Despite the Warm Ups classic, ‘I’m a g-spot dildo’ shape, you need to be aware that it is quite a bit smaller than your average g-spotting dildo (to see what I mean, take a look at my “Tantus Size Comparison” image below).

This pint-sized dong measures just 4.5 inches in insertable length, 3.25 inches in circumference around the widest point (the tip) and a mere 2.5 inches in circumference around the rest of the shaft.

To put this into perspective, my index finger measures 2.25 inches in circumference. As the smallest Tantus dildo in my collection, the Warm Up would best suit beginners to anal or vaginal penetration, or as the name suggests, those looking for a warm up toy.

The Warm Up is made entirely from Tantus’ own 100% ultra-premium silicone, which is free from all nasty chemicals, virtually non-porous and odourless to boot. The silicone used to create this particular dildo is the shiny variety.

Shiny silicone produces more drag than silky, matte silicones (think Lelo), but the Warm Up is so petite that, with a little lubricant added, friction is rarely an issue. Due to the slender nature of this toy, the shaft bends and flexes with ease.

The Warm Up comes with a fantastic feature; a teardrop shaped base. The base makes the Warm Up safe to use for anal penetration and easy to use with most strap-on harnesses.

Tantus have recently added this teardrop shaped base to a few of their newer products and I love it because it allows you and your partner to keep track of which way the toy is facing when inserted. Its like an arrow, indicating which way is up.

This is a huge advantage when using curved dildos for g-spot or prostate play, as it gives a visual indication of which way the curve is angled.

Our Experiences With The Warm Up Dildo

I first tried using the Warm Up as a g-spot dildo and was completely underwhelmed. This came as no surprise, because I tend to prefer larger g-spot toys that contain enough firmness to apply pressure against my g-spot.

The Warm Up is so petite and so smooth (no texture) that I had trouble feeling it as I moved it in and out of my vagina. To make matters worse, it was just too flexible to apply anything other than subtle pressure to my g-spot.

I realised quickly that the Warm Up was probably better suited to prostate play, so I handed it to my partner to get his opinion.

With a splash of lubricant, he set about inserting the Warm Up. This can be a little fiddly at first, because the flexibility would cause the dildo to bend as he pushed.

As soon as the tip was in, the rest followed effortlessly.

It was so comfortable that he could begin thrusting immediately. It came as no surprise to me when he mentioned an inability to apply any pressure to his prostate (much like my experience with g-spot pressure).

Instead, he described the sensations as subtle; a teasing sensation as the bulbous tip lightly brushed past his prostate. Although the highly flexible shaft thwarted his attempts to apply pressure, it did ensure a comfortable experience.

Every time he moved, or thrust, the toy would flex with him, so he did not experience any uncomfortable prodding or poking sensations within.

For my partner, the Warm-Up produced the best sensations when it was used as a thrusting dildo. It did not work so well as a butt plug, or a hands free anal toy, especially if he moved around.

The shaft contains no bulbs, or other stopping points that could hold it in place, so it does tend to slide out gradually. Wearing a pair of tight fitting undies may help keep it inserted if you so desired.

Cleaning And Care

The Warm Up is incredibly easy to clean and care for. You can wash it with antibacterial soap and rinse with water, or use a sex toy cleaner and wipes.

The great news is that Tantus silicone can be sterilised, which helps reduce the possibility of infection or irritation.

You can boil the Warm Up (Careful not to let the silicone touch the sides of the pan), use a 10% bleach solution and even place it in the dishwasher.

The material is incredibly stable, so with proper care, this dildo should last you a lifetime.

Summary

For us, the Warm Up was just a little too small and a little too subtle to blow our socks off. That’s not to say it’s a bad sex toy, it really isn’t, it’s just that we both prefer something a little more intense.

The Warm-Up produces subtle sensations, due to being so petite, containing no texture and having a lot of flexibility. I believe the Warm Up would be best suited to those who are completely new to anal/vaginal penetration.

If you are looking to make a short step up from the use of a finger, or need a comfortable, body safe warm up dildo, then the Tantus Warm Up would probably be ideal for you. Intermediates and advanced sex toy users may prefer the Tantus G-spot Vibrator.
