Tantus Plunge Paddle Review

Tantus Plunge Paddle Review

Tantus Plunge Paddle Review, June 2021

The Tantus Plunge Paddle is an impact device with a difference. Of course, it can be used as a paddle, for intense impact play, but the handle has also been designed a certain shape, so that you can use the Plunge Paddle as a dildo too.

It’s a two for one toy and is completely safe to use internally (Anal and vaginal.) because it is made entirely from Tantus’ high quality, matte silicone.

This means that the material is durable, odourless, completely body safe and can even be sterilized between uses. (See the cleaning and care section below.)

Being able to sterilize your impact toys, means you can share them safely with others. The Plunge Paddle is actually quite large. The paddle alone (Just the rectangular part) measures 6.1 inches in length, with a width of 3 inches.

The thickness of the paddle though, is just 0.20 inches, which makes the paddle quite flexible and ‘wobbly’ The large dimensions probably suggest a more thudding kind of impact, as opposed to the stinging swats of canes or thinner implements. Don’t be fooled though, because silicone provides a sharper nip, compared to leather or suede.

The dildo, or handle measures 5.5 inches in length, with a reasonably slim line girth/circumference of 3.5 inches. The dildo/handle has also been designed with a slight curve and is suitable and safe to use, both vaginally and anally. The slim girth would even be suitable for anal beginners.

Use As A Paddle

I have gathered quite a collection of impact toys over the years, from whips and crops to floggers and paddles, but I had not experienced the joys of a silicone impact device until the Tantus Plunge Paddle arrived.

Oh my! Let me just put it out there now; the Tantus Plunge is by far, the most painful we have experienced and my collection isn’t exactly wimpy.

I have a gorgeous leather and metal flogger, a sexy riding crop, heck, I even have a vicious looking paddle that is studded with metal and all of these flagellation toys are less intense than the Tantus Plunge Paddle.

Compared to the leather paddles in my collection, the silicone Plunge Paddle feels sharper and more stinging. With my leather paddles, I can often build up to a decent thwack before my partner is reaching his limits and this extra force allows for a more thudding, deeper impact that can bruise more deeply under the skin.

The Tantus Plunge however, feels so intensely stinging to the skins surface, that we could barely build up past some rather pathetic, gentle slaps, or wrist flicks. Despite this, his ass was redder than a cherry and I even noted some surface bruising, or welting appear, immediately after a few ‘harder’ swats. The Plunge means serious business and is severe enough to redden the skin with a gentle flick of the wrist.

Neither my partner nor I could stand pushing it any further, but I am reasonably certain that the Plunge Paddle could leave welts or bruising, if you are brave enough to push it a little bit further than we could manage. I really don’t think it would take much force to get to that point either. This is not the kind of paddle that you could put your full force into, without causing some quite intense pain.

The Tantus Plunge Paddle has a reasonably rigid handle (It only flexes slightly under force) but the paddle end, being thin and flat, is quite flexible. Giving a small flick of the wrist will cause the paddle end to wobble back and forth (See my video below) and you can bend the paddle end completely in half with only a small amount of force (I did it with two fingers.) This flexibility helps create a harsher, nippy impact, from smaller movements of the arm (Compared to a rigid paddle.)

Use As A dildo

Once you have sufficiently reddened your partner’s bottom (Or before, or during.) you can flip the Plunge Paddle around and use the pure silicone handle as an effective dildo.

The handle is reasonably slim line, measuring 5.5 inches in insertable length, with a maximum circumference of 4 inches around the bulbous tip.

(The shaft measures 3.5 inches in circumference). It is slightly curved too. The slimmer, curved shaft and bulbous tip make the Plunge handle most suitable for g-spot and prostate play.

Either way, the dildo is not intimidating. Of course, the Plunge is not the most ideal dildo, mainly because the paddle end is always attached and this flapping hunk of silicone can get in the way a little, or disrupt the rhythm of your thrusting.

I found that I had to grab hold of the paddle during faster thrusting, to stop it wobbling about or dragging and slapping against the bed sheets underneath me. (I masturbate laying on my back, but I imagine this issue will also apply to those who like to lay on their front. Standing up might be the only way to avoid that issue.)

That being said, I was still surprised at how effective the handle was at stimulating my g-spot. My partner also reported that it hit his prostate perfectly and provided some really enjoyable stimulation. He is an intermediate with anal play and found the slim line shaft comfortable. There was no uncomfortable dragging, or stretching sensations and the rounded tip found my g-spot and his p-spot effortlessly, thanks to the slight curve in the shaft.

The handle is quite firm too, with very little flex, so we could both apply as much pressure to our hot spots as we wanted. No, it wasn’t perfect, but it was certainly not bad either. There was only one other issue that bothered us and that was the hole in the Plunge Paddles handle.

The bulbous tip has been designed with a small hole going straight through it and this is most probably there so that you can attach some string to the paddle and then hang it from a hook, if you wished. The problem though, is that this hole can be awkward to clean out and can trap fluids. This put us both off using it as an anal toy. This was my only worry concerning the hole though, as I personally could not feel it during use and my partner reported the same experience.

There are not many impact toys out there that safely combine both impact toy and dildo in one toy and even fewer still that are made from such body safe materials. The huge amount of positives meant that I could let the niggling issues slide.

Cleaning And Care

The Tantus Plunge paddle is waterproof and non-porous, which means it won’t absorb fluids and is super easy to keep hygienically clean, unlike suede and leather implements. You can wash it with hot soapy water, spritz it with a sex toy cleaner and even sterilize it in a 10% bleach solution or by boiling it (Just ensure that you do not allow the paddle to touch the sides of the hot pan.)

The only aspect of the paddle that needs some extra attention is the hole in the handle, as this area can gather lubricants and/or body fluids easily and these can get lodged inside the hole. If you are still concerned, you can always put a condom over the handle, before use. I would recommend only using water-based, or oil-based lubricants with the Tantus Plunge, as some silicone lubricants could damage the surface of your paddle.

Summary

I love my Tantus Plunge Paddle. After all, it is not too often you come across such a mean impact device that can be used in multiple ways and can then be sterilized afterwards too. My partner fears it though. When this paddle comes out of the toy box, his usual response is “No, please, not that one!” See, this thing HURTS.

I barely have to flick my wrist to have him wincing and wriggling around deliciously. He is not the only one. I always test impact toys on myself, before using them on him, as this allows me to get a feel for the toy. Oh, it stings! I would describe the pain as being somewhat thudding, due to the wide surface area, but mostly it just really stings and nips.

This sensation is so intense that it would take a stronger man or woman than us, to let the impacts fall harder, which I imagine would provide a more thudding sensation too. Combining the paddle with the dildo handle is a brilliant idea, as it makes the Plunge Paddle all the more versatile, being able to provide pleasure and pain.

The dildo is not perfect, but it does the job well enough for me (and him). I would certainly recommend the Plunge paddle to all interested in a little spanking, but keep in mind that this is a pretty intense paddle and might not be suitable to novices. It would be most suited to those who have already experienced a good few spankings and are ready to ramp up the intensity and really redden their ass. If the latter sounds like you, then the Plunge paddle would be ideal.
