Tantus Mikey Dildo Review

Tantus Mikey Dildo Review

Tantus Mikey Dildo Review, June 2021

I was kindly sent the Tantus Mikey dildo from tantus.inc for an impartial review and from the moment I unpackaged this dildo and began turning it over in my hands, I just knew I was going to have some fantastic experiences using it.

Mikey aligns perfectly with all that I seek in a great dildo. It is on the shorter side, but with a thick circumference and it is made from a plush, flexible, body-safe silicone.

I was really looking forward to testing this one.

Product Information

The Tantus Mikey is harness compatible dildo made from premium grade silicone. Tantus are well known for their high quality silicone, which is virtually non-porous, odourless and free from any nasty chemicals such as phthalates.

The Mikey is part of Tantus’ O2 range, a selection of dual density silicone dildos designed to feel plush and produce more ‘realistic’ sensations during use.

Tantus’ dual density dildos, such as Mikey, have a firmer silicone core (which runs up the shaft, terminating where the glans begins) and a softer silicone is then used to create a thick outer skin.

This soft silicone is also used to create the entire head of the dildo, so the head in particular feels soft and squishy.

Aside from the two different firmnesses of silicone, Tantus also use two different ‘textures’ of silicone to create Mikey. The head is made from Tantus’ shiny silicone and the shaft is created using a more matte silicone.

Mikey measures 5.5 inches in insertable length when I measure the dildo along the back of the shaft, but due to a slight curvature, it measures 5.25 inches when the measurement is taken from the front. Mikey is a very streamlined dildo, so the circumference remains the same throughout at just a shade under 5.5 inches.

Mikey is one of Tantus’s average, or realistically sized dildos in terms of length, but is verging on the larger side in terms of girth. This makes this dildo ideal for those who want to feel full, but don’t enjoy their sex toys sinking too deeply.

My Experiences With The Tantus Mikey

If you have read any of my previous Tantus reviews, you will know that a common bugbear I have with this brand is that their dildos are often too long for me. My vaginal canal can only handle roughly 6 inches of length, before the toy is prodding at my cervix and many Tantus dildos measure 7 inches long.

To be fair, it was never a big issue, but it did mean that I could not squat and ride the dildo and I was always slightly on edge when my partner used them on me, just in case he slipped and hit my cervix.

Despite my need for a short dildo, I still like to feel full, even stretched a little, but it is often hard to find a thick, short dildo. Then Mikey showed up and it was the answer to all my dildo needs.

I have owned Mikey for a few months now and it quickly became my favourite Tantus dildo, knocking the Tantus Adam from my top spot. The silicone feels plush and cushioned and the shaft has a medium amount of flex. On top of this, the head and shaft are very streamlined, with a small coronal ridge. All of these factors ensure that Mikey just glides into my vagina with ease.

I never experience any popping or grinding sensations, often associated with deep or large coronal ridges and best of all, I finally…finally own a Tantus dildo that I can insert fully without it banging into my cervix.

What Mikey is lacking in length, it certainly makes up for in Girth. This chunky dildo is perfectly proportioned, providing fullness and a very gentle stretch that reminds me in the most pleasurable ways that I am being penetrated.

Tantus shiny silicone contains a high level of drag, whereas the matte silicone contains a medium amount of drag. This means that the tip of this dildo contains more drag than the shaft and that is a genius design. See, the head is quite ‘grabby’ due to the drag, or friction created by the shiny silicone. This would not be entirely pleasant without lubrication, but with lubricant, the friction is mostly removed.

What remains causes the helps the tip of the dildo to grab onto and massage my g-spot more effectively. That might sound a little scary, but it actually felt more intense to me than smoother, friction-free materials, such as metal. With those materials, I have to rely on using pressure; with Mikey I get the combined sensation of pressure and some gentle friction.

Of course, too much friction to my labia and the entrance to my vagina can become uncomfortable and thankfully, the matte silicone used to create Mikey’s shaft contains lower levels of drag. It is just enough that it helps me feel Mikey’s shaft brushing against my entrance as the dildo glides in and out. Perfect!

Due to the shape and size of this dildo, I find it much more versatile than many others. I can hand it to my partner to use on me without fear of pain and I can use it to masturbate sitting up. I simply insert it fully, sit on a surface such as the bed or chair and use it hands-free while I use a vibrator on my clitoris.

The curve is not severe enough for me to say that Mikey is the perfect g-spot dildo, because it does require some angling to hit that spot effectively and Mikey’s friction can cause irritation if I use it fast and hard for extended periods of time.

However, with a bit of angling and plenty of lube, I could use Mikey effectively for g-spot orgasms. I find this dildo shines as a general dildo; one used to fill me up and give me something to squeeze around while I enjoy clitoral masturbation with my favourite vibrators. It is fantastic for thrusting with too.

His Experience With The Tantus Mikey

My partner enjoys anal stimulation, but it not a size fanatic. He cannot handle penetration much deeper than about 5 inches and he struggles with circumferences/girths above 5 inches. Mikey therefore, is slightly too chunky for him to enjoy without a lot of warming up.

We soon discovered that, like me, my partner could insert the full length of the shaft. This was amazing news, because I often struggle to peg him hard and fast with other, longer dildos.

They go too deep, hitting that kink in his colon that causes discomfort. I now have a dildo I can use to peg him hard and fast without fear, but the circumference is now the hindrance. Between the chunky size and the friction Mikey produces, I cannot peg him hard for long, without it becoming too intense.

Despite this, my partner did have some amazing experiences with Mikey, so long as he went slow and warmed up to it using smaller toys first. Mikey’s head is not tapered, so he felt himself being stretched from the get-go.

Overall though, his experience was similar to mine, in that he found Mikey to be very smooth and streamlined. It did not produce any intense popping sensations as it passed through the sphincters.

I believe Mikey would be a fantastic anal/strap-on dildo for anyone who loves being stretched a little, but doesn’t enjoy toys that sink too deeply. Mikey is the equivalent in size to an average length, but rather chunky penis. It is therefore probably most suited to anal intermediates that are on the verge of stepping up into the advanced category.

Cleaning And Care

Like most Tantus dildos, the silicone used to create Mikey is a lint magnet, attracting lots of fluff and hair. Thankfully though, this dildo is super easy to keep clean. It can be sprayed with sex toy cleaner and wiped down, washed in hot soapy water, sterilised in a 10% bleach solution and even boiled (Don’t let the silicone touch the sides of the pan or other). It is safe to use water-based and oil-based lubricants on the Mikey, but it is recommended that you do a spot check on the base of the dildo if you intend to use a silicone-based lubricant, as some may damage the surface of the dildo.

Summary

Mikey has become my favourite Tantus dildo and sits extremely high up my favourites list when I consider many other branded dildos too. The length makes it ideal for anyone who has ever said “I wish I owned a dildo I could fully insert” and the girth/circumference makes it ideal for anyone searching for a dildo that is slightly chunkier than the average sized human penis.

Of course, it will depend on your own experience levels and what you are comfortable using at the moment, but for me, the Mikey provided a gentle stretch and fullness inside my vagina that was highly satisfying. I could use it for g-spot stimulation too. Being highly versatile, Mikey is also suitable for anal penetration and strap-on play, because it comes with a flared base.

Thankfully, this dildo can also be cleaned, even sterilised between orifices, minimising risk of spreading bacteria. I can find no faults with Mikey. I was impressed with the design, the high material quality, the versatility and the look and feel of this dildo. In my opinion, the Tantus Mikey is the perfect all-rounder dildo and I would definitely recommend it.
