Tantus Echo Handle Dildo Review

Tantus Echo Handle Dildo Review, June 2021

The tantus.inc for an honest review and this dildo is available in two colours, Strawberry and Midnight Purple.

The Echo handle dildo is made from pure, body safe silicone, as are all Tantus products, and as the name suggests this dildo comes with a handle.

The Echo measures 11.5 inches in total length, with the handle measuring 4.5 inches and the usable section of the dildo measuring 7 inches.

You can see from my pictures that the usable portion is made from a shiny silicone, while the handle is made from a matte silicone.

The shaft measures 4.5 inches in circumference and does not taper or vary in girth. Do not be fooled by its average circumference though. This is quite an intense dildo. The silicone used to create the Echo is quite firm. It does not squish underneath the fingertips and it only has a small amount of flex in the shaft.

It does wobble if you give it a wiggle though. I guess that it needs to be firmer than shorter dildos because of the length. I imagine that softer silicones would flop and bend during use, taking away some of the control you have with the firmer silicone.

The Dildo In Use

The Tantus Echo handle is not the kind of Dildo I could just slide inside me and thrust with. I have to warm up to it.

I like my dildos to have some texture to them, but the texture on the Echo Handle dildo is quite intense, partly because it is a deeply rippled dildo and partly because the silicone is firm.

This dildo provides rumbling, popping sensations as it slides in and out (Both anally and vaginally) and the silicone can cause a fair amount of drag during use, so the sensation can sometimes be a little too much.

I find it a little ironic that I cannot thrust very hard with the only dildo I own that has a handle designed to be used for thrusting. It taunts me.

However, slow and steady wins the race and the stimulation provided as those ripples slowly rumble over my g-spot, vulva and vaginal entrance is divine.

When I am super turned on, I can get away with short bursts of hard thrusting, or rather, jiggling against my g-spot and the Echo Handle can bring about quick, intense g-spot orgasms in no time at all.

For those of you who, like me, cannot handle a lot of texture over long periods of time, I do have some good news. The ripples on the Echo Handle only surround one side of the dildo. The other side is actually extremely smooth and streamlined.

This is a huge bonus, because the Echo handle effectively provides two completely different types of sensation in one toy. I could have the ripples facing upwards and experience intense and enjoyable sensations against my vulva and g-spot, or I could rotate the ripples to face downwards towards my bottom, and enjoy a gentler, smoother sensation against my vulva.

Of course, I could still feel those ripples against the lower part of my vagina, but I personally found that using it this way was a lot less intense.

The Handle In Use

I assumed the handle would help with gripping and manoeuvring the dildo during use, and in some circumstances, it really does, but there were other occasions where it actually just got in the way.

An example would be when I tried to use the dildo underneath my duvet.

The long handle, which is made from ‘grabby’ silicone, tended to catch onto the duvet, making thrusting awkward. Another disadvantage with the long handle is that it hinders downward angling.

I often angle my dildos upwards when thrusting, to ensure the head is pressing into my g-spot.

This means the base is generally pointing down towards my bottom. As you can imagine, if you are laying on your back and wanting to angle the Echo upwards to hit your g-spot, at a certain point the handle hits the bed beneath you, once again making thrusting and angling awkward.

It did cross my mind that the handle would be advantageous to anyone with mobility issues, but because the handle juts straight out, away from the body, rather than curving back around, I still had to reach for the Echo handle in much the same way as I would any other dildo.

My arm was still at full stretch to grasp it between my legs. I was confused. What were the advantages to this handle? Eventually I figured it out.

I was looking at it all wrong. Instead of reducing the users reach, the handle changes the users grip. With standard dildos, the user often has to grasp the toy around the (Often large, round) base, or even try to grip onto the one or two inches of dildo left outside of the body.

If you use sex toys often, you are probably no stranger to the hand, or wrist, cramps that come from grasping standard toys in awkward ways, especially during fast and hard thrusting. The Echo however, has all of that extra length and therefore can be grasped differently. It is much more comfortable on the wrists and hands.

I handed the Echo Handle to my partner and asked him to use it on me. After he had finished using it as a lightsaber (Including noises) we discovered another advantage with the handle. It gave him more control.

The extra length meant that he could position himself better at the side of my body, and could see and feel what he was doing easier than with a standard dildo. His grip on the Echo handle was also different and he found that helped to reduce the arm ache that he often feels when jiggling my g-spot with standard dildos. (I like it fast.) It wasn’t perfect though.

You have to be careful not to thrust a little too deep when using the Echo handle on another person. This is a very long toy and my cervix was on the receiving end of a few painful knocks when he got a little carried away.

Cleaning And Care

Being made from silicone, the Echo handle does attract dust and lint, but it can be cleaned easily in hot soapy water. It can also be sterilized in a 10% bleach solution, boiled and even placed in the dishwasher if you wished.

Before you do any of these, I recommend checking out a ‘how-to’ guide online, to avoid damaging your dildo.  You will need to use lubricant with the Echo handle, especially if you are using it for anal. I recommend using water based or oil based lubricants.

It is probably wise to avoid silicone lube, or at least do a patch test first, as silicone bonds with silicone and if the lubricant is not compatible, you could damage the surface of the Echo.

Summary

The Tantus Echo handle is yet another impressive sex toy from Tantus and this dildo is going to really impress the texture lovers among you. Having the ripples on just one side of the Echo handle means that this toy is quite versatile and it will provide different sensations depending on how you use it.

I like that it is versatile. The Echo handle is a lot of fun and although the handle could sometimes get in the way, my overall experience with it was a good one. To add to that, this dildo is made from high quality, phthalate free, body safe materials and is virtually non-porous.

I wouldn’t say that it was my favourite dildo by Tantus, as I personally prefer the curved, smoother, shaft and softer silicone on the Tantus Adam dildo, but the Echo certainly did not disappoint. If you wanted to get your hands on this dildo, without the handle, check out the Tantus Echo Vibrator instead.
