Swoon Get the Massage Sensual Gift Set Review

Swoon Get the Massage Sensual Gift Set Review, June 2021

The Swoon, Get The Massage is a gift set, containing one 125ml bottle of massage oil and one 130g heart shaped massage candle. Both of these items come packaged in a lovely gift box.

Massage In A Bottle Oil

The Swoon Massage in a Bottle oil was good for massage. It is a reasonably thin oil, so you do need to use a little more of it to build up a slick layer on the skin, but once it was applied, It stayed nicely slippery for a good long time (At least twenty minutes) before needing to be reapplied.

After thirty minutes of massage, I still had to towel off the excess oil, to ensure he did not feel overly oily, which means that this bottle should last a long while. Once the excess oil was removed, the rest soaked into the skin nicely.

There was no stickiness, or heavy, clogged sensations and the skin felt smooth. Neither of us suffered any reactions to the product, despite the fact that we both have sensitive and easily irritated skin.

The oil has been fragranced with sweet orange essential oil, which has a zesty, sweet orange scent.

When I passed the bottle around the room, the overriding opinion, from all sniffers, was that it smelled orangey, but mostly, it smelled extremely sweet. For some, it was just too sweet and they described it as “sickly”.

Neither my partner nor I were overly keen on the scent, but to be fair, we do prefer nutty, musky scents, so the Swoons sweet orange was not to our taste. The scent is strong enough to linger on the skin for an hour or so after the massage, but it was not overpowering.

During my massage I caught subtle hints of the fragrance, and that was nice. No one wants to endure an overwhelming perfumed scent while trying to relax.

Of course, I did notice the scent more strongly when I was the one giving the massage, but it was not off putting, despite my general dislike for the sweetness. If you enjoy sweet, candy-like fruit scents, you will most likely enjoy this bottle of massage oil.

Massage in a Bottle Oil Ingredients

Vitis Vinifera (Grape Seed oil); Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Sweet Orange Essential Oil); Citrus Sinensis (Petitgrain Essential Oil); Citrus Nobilis (mandarin Oil); Tocopherol (Vitamin E); Parfum; Citral; Geraniol; Hexylcinnamal; Limonene; Linalool

Burning Desire Candle

The Burning Desire Massage Candle is both a candle and a massage oil combined in one.

You simply light the candle, to help set a relaxing mood and the heat from the flame will slowly melt the solid “wax” into a small pool of oil surrounding the wick.

This oil can then be scooped up, using the little spoon provided and used as a lovely warm massage oil (I recommend pouring the oil into your hands before applying to your partners skin, just in case it feels too hot, although in our experience, this was never the case).

This is a reasonably large candle and should last for roughly twenty to thirty uses (This is my best guess based on how much we used during our three uses, so may not be entirely accurate.)

One thing I did notice is, due to the shape and size of the candle, a fair amount of the “wax” is just too far away from the wick to melt in the heat.

Do not worry about waste though, because the candle “wax” is actually not completely solid like normal candle wax, rather, it is almost the consistency of butter that has been hardened in the fridge.

This means that if you want to skip the candle altogether, or just want to use up the remaining “wax” that did not melt, you can actually use the little spoon, or even push your finger into the wax, scoop out a little chunk and rub this together between your palms.

The heat and friction of your hands will melt the chunk into an oil within seconds. (Depending how large the chunk is) One advantage to lighting it and using it as a candle though, is that a subtle scent will spread around roughly half of the room. It is subtle and relaxing.

I really enjoyed being massaged with the burning massage candle. The thicker oil feels so creamy on the skin and it doesn’t slip and slide quite as much as the Massage in a Bottle oil.

This meant that there was still a little bit of friction along with the gliding sensation of his hands and that friction was beneficial for deeper tissue massage.

My partners fingers did not just slip all over the place, but the candle oil was still slick enough to remove uncomfortable dragging sensations as his hands moved over me. We both loved this thicker, creamier oil.

The only downside really is that this thicker oil tends to sit on the surface of the skin for longer than the thinner oil does and can therefore feel a bit heavy for a while, before it eventually soaks in. Once it does, the skin feels soft and supple and it leaves a lovely fruity scent for an hour or so. Really nice. Neither of us suffered any adverse reactions to the oil.

One important thing to note is that it takes roughly twenty to thirty minutes for the candle to melt enough of the oil to use for a back massage, so you will need to plan ahead with this one, allowing enough time to let the wax melt.

The burning desire candle is watermelon scented, and despite the fact that I do not usually choose fruity scents, I actually really liked this one. It is somewhat sweet, but mostly just fruity and fresh. The scent of this one got all round high marks from the three of us.

Neither the oil or the candle is designed to be edible, which makes them unsuitable for licking off of one another’s body, but in saying that, neither of them taste disgusting either, so getting some in my mouth during foreplay was not off-putting.

Burning Desire Candle Ingredients

Glycine Soja Oil (Soya Oil); Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil (Hemp Seed Oil); Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil); Butrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter); Beeswax; Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil (Sunflower Oil) Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil (Sweet Almond Oil) Tocopherol (Vitamin E) Parfum.

Summary

What I enjoyed most about this massage set was the variation and options. Not just the variation of scents, but also having the choice  between a slippery, sensual oil, which allowed the hands to slip and slide everywhere, or a lovely, deep tissue massage provided by a thicker, creamier massage oil.

The Swoon set offers different choices and different sensations and while we were not particularly keen on the smell of the bottled oil, we still enjoyed the sensations provided during our massage.

Then we moved on to the burning desire candle and found our winner. It has a gorgeous watermelon scent and the thicker creamy oil was lush.

The Swoon Get the Massage set was therefore an overall winner for us. I would not describe it as luxurious, (Although the candle really impressed me) but it was certainly a very good massage set and excellent value for money.

I believe this set would make a nice gift for those in your life that enjoy being pampered, caressed and spoilt. Just ensure that your partner enjoys sweet fruity fragrances before your purchase. If so, you are onto a winner.
