Strict Leather Gates of Hell Review

I love Gates of Hell device with 5 rings.

Looking at the product photographs, the Gates of Hell reminded me of a cock ring, a chastity cage and a CBT (cock and ball torture) device, all rolled into one tantalising package.

If all of these elements came into play during use, then the Gates of Hell had the potential to satisfy all of my cock-teasing kinks at the same time. I certainly couldn’t wait to try it out.

Product Information

The Gates of Hell is quite difficult to categorize, but I like to think of it as an extreme version of a standard cock ring. With five rings instead of one, the Gates of Hell is designed to constrict your penis from base to tip.

This will restrict the flow of blood and give you a firmer erection.

The Gates of Hell is constructed from a thin strip of leather and a number of nickel-plated, steel rings. This device is available in two different sizes; the 5 ring version (which is the one I am reviewing) and a 7 ring version.

The size of your penis, when erect, will help to determine which version would suit you best. While this is not an exact science, I believe the 5-ring Gates of Hell would fit best if your penis measures between 5 and 6.5 inches in length.

If you measure 6.5 inches or more, I would recommend the 7-ring version, as the 5-ring version might be a little short. Unfortunately, I don’t think either version would be ideal if you measure under 5 inches in length, as the front ring may slip off the end of your penis.

As you can see from my photographs, the Gates of Hell rings are graduated in size. The back ring is the largest, measuring 2 inches in diameter. This ring is designed to be worn over your penis and testicles.

The three middle rings are all the same size, measuring 1.5 inches in diameter. These rings will fit along the shaft of your penis. The front ring is the smallest, measuring 1.25 inches in diameter. Depending on your length, the front ring will fit snugly around (or close to) the glans of your penis.

One final thing to note is that the Gates of Hell has a small D-ring, attached to the very front of the device. This D-ring allows you to attach weights, but it can also be used for tying rope, and other binds.

Our Experience Fitting and Wearing the Gates of Hell Device

It didn’t take us long to realise that the Gates of Hell device should be put on when his penis was completely flaccid. As you can imagine, it was a lot more difficult to slide the rings onto his penis when he was already hard.

To get into the device, you need to pull your penis and testicles through the back ring first. Once this ring is in place, you can slide the rest over your penis, re-positioning the rings as you become erect.

You can apply a little lubricant to help the rings slide easier, but I don’t recommend it. With lubricant added, the front ring would often slip off the end of his penis, especially If we added weights or other binds to the device (more on that later).

With a full erection, my partner said he could feel a squeezing pressure sensation, directly below each of the metal rings.

This wasn’t a painful, or even an uncomfortable sensation, but I imagine the intensity will vary from person to person, depending on the size of your penis and your own tolerance to pain.

As his arousal built, his penis began to throb beneath the rings. Each throb produced another little squeeze as the rings would dig in a little harder. Although this sensation felt pleasant, it was the mental stimulation that turned him on the most. The squeezing pressure was a constant, physical reminder that his erection was confined within the device.

As I began to tease him with my hands and mouth, I noticed that the rings acted like a buffer; blocking a lot of the direct, skin-on-skin contact. This physical “denial” of stimulation was somewhat similar to wearing a chastity cage. He could watch what I was doing to him, but could only feel some of the physical pleasure.

With the tip of his penis exposed, he was still able to reach orgasm with reasonable ease, but the reduced stimulation along his shaft was a huge tease. Overall, this added to the mental thrill he got while wearing the device.

I must admit, I had hoped to use the Gates of Hell for a little cock and ball torture, but aside from the aforementioned teasing (which he describes as torture), the device itself didn’t cause any physical discomfort.

As I mentioned before though, your experience may vary. A lack of pain may be a positive thing for some, but being quite sadistic, I wanted more.

I began experimenting with the little D-ring at the front of the device; attaching rope and small clips, so that I could tie his penis to whatever object I desired.

At one point, that included his own thigh.

I found it particularly satisfying to attach the Gates of Hell to another object (bed post, chair) in a way that caused his penis to stick straight out from his body. Of course, he was unable to pull back, as this would cause the back ring to dig into his testicles. In this position, he was exposed and vulnerable to my sadistic teasing.

The Gates of Hell device might not be a CBT device in its own right, but with a little imagination you can certainly incorporate it into your CBT sessions.

Downsides

The only issue we noticed with the Gates of Hell device, is that some of the metal rings have been welded together quite roughly. This has left a few sharp edges that could scratch the skin.

Thankfully, you can rotate the rings so that the welded edges are hidden underneath the leather strap.

We do this before using the Gates of Hell and have not had any unwanted scratches or discomfort. Due to the scratchy rings and porous leather strap, I also wouldn’t recommend wearing the Gates of Hell to penetrate another person.

I personally avoided this due to risk of injury or infection.

Lastly, the Gates of Hell device is likely to slip off your penis if you lose your erection at any time during play. To be fair, it is designed to fit loosely when you are flaccid, so that you have room to grow into it.

However, it can be a little frustrating if you tend to lose your erection on and off during play. Therefore, I found the Gates of Hell better suited to sessions that focus mainly on sexual teasing.

Summary

After using the Gates of Hell, I would now more accurately describe it as part cock ring, part cock teasing device. We discovered a few minor niggles along the way, but overall I had a lot of fun finding out all the ways I could use the Gates of Hell to tease and torture him. His experience was generally positive too.

If your only goal is to achieve a firmer erection, I wouldn’t recommend the Gates of Hell. It definitely does give the wearer a firmer erection, but it may also reduce sensation. On top of this, I wouldn’t recommend using it for penetration. Being quite gentle and so easy to use, I would mostly recommend the Gates of Hell to those who are quite new to bondage/CBT and are looking for a fun device to get started with.
