Pleasure Works Cadet Dildo Review

Pleasure Works Cadet Dildo Review

The Pleasure Works Cadet is a realistic dildo, made from a flexible and somewhat squishy silicone.

The dildo does have some subtle, realistic texture in the form of raised veins, which snake along the front of the shaft.

The back of the shaft is completely smooth. The glans has also been scored, or marked, giving the appearance of very fine lines that look quite realistic.

Aside from looking realistic, the Cadet also has quite realistic, ‘average’ dimensions.

This dildo measures 4.75 inches around the central portion of its shaft, but it does get slightly thicker as you move closer to the base. (The circumference at the base is 5.5 inches.) Despite the fact that the raised corona is very prominent, the glans/head of the dildo also measures 4.75 inches.

The Cadet measures 7 inches in insertable length (8 inches total, including the base). This means that its size is not too intimidating. It is available in two flesh tone colours called Flesh Brown and Flesh Pink.

My Experiences With The Cadet Dildo

The first thing to really impress me about the Pleasure Works Cadet Dildo was the softness to the silicone. This dildo flexes well and it squishes under the pads of my fingers with relative ease.

I compared the Cadet to some other dildos in my collection, most notably, my Tantus O2 Adam, which has been made from a dual density silicone and is designed to be squishy.

The Cadet is more pliable than the Adam and this was perfect for me. The squishier my dildos are, the more enjoyable I find them.

I like softer silicone that flexes and squishes nicely during use because it is more comfortable than firmer materials.

It seems to conform nicely to the shape of my internal parts too, causing no grinding sensations behind by pubic bone and no prodding or poking sensations at my cervix. (Or inside the rectum, should I use them anally.)

I was certainly pleased with the looks and feel of the Cadet dildo in my hand.

During insertion I was surprised to note that the most overwhelming sensations were provided by a) Those fine lines carved into the corona and b) The raised coronal ridge.

I was obviously expecting to feel a popping sensation as the ridge slipped inside, but I was not expecting that popping sensation to be quite so intense, nor was I expecting to feel the rougher texture on the glans of the Cadet.

As soon as the head had slipped inside, the texture felt around my vulva was minimal and I could not really feel the veins on the shaft. It felt very smooth. To be honest, my first experience with the Cadet was not brilliant. Those popping sensations as the ridge slid past my pubic bone (internally) were bordering on painful.

This popping sensation was also present during anal penetration, and could be felt when the head of the cadet slipped past the sphincter muscles. I soon learned that, despite its ‘average’ proportions, the Cadet was not the kind of dildo I could use vaginally from a cold start.

I needed plenty of lubricant and to be aroused already, before I could enjoy the Cadet and when I was ready, it felt so much more enjoyable.

The Cadet is the kind of toy I reach for when I want to experience standard penetration, rather than g-spot stimulation. It does stimulate the g-spot and p-spot, thanks to its slightly curved shaft, but it is not the most intense g-spotting/p-spotting toy we own.

The soft silicone is firm enough to allow you to use the Cadet for both vaginal and anal play, but it is slightly too flexible and this meant I could not apply firm pressure to my g-spot. Medium pressure was the best I could hope for, because the shaft would flex if I pressed any harder.

The shaft, while curved, is not quite curved enough to allow the head of the cadet to automatically hit my g-spot from the moment of insertion, so some angling was involved to ensure it really hit the spot.

The final reason I avoid it for g-spot play is because the slightly abrasive head, combined with the super draggy silicone, caused discomfort quickly when I did my usual hard, fast jiggling. I have a sensitive vulva and it was just a little too much for me to use this dildo hard and fast.

For all these reasons, I tended to use it most often for gentle in-out penetration and to feel full during clitoral masturbation.

As you may notice, the Cadet has been designed with a flared, circular base that makes this dildo suitable, not just for vaginal, but also for anal penetration and for use in strap on harnesses.

I would not recommend the Cadet to beginners, but intermediate to advanced anal players.

If you can comfortably manage an average sized penis, then the Cadet would not be too much of a problem.

The grainy, course texture on the Cadets glans can be felt inside the rectum, as can the prominent ridge as it passes your internal muscles, but my partner, an intermediate, who prefers his toys on the smaller side, said that these two sensations were not too problematic for him and he felt a decent amount of stimulation to his prostate.

Again, the only downside was not being able to apply firm pressure, so avoid this dildo if you crave firm pressure.

The Cadet, in my opinion, makes an ideal pegging dildo and we had no issues using it as such. In fact, this was probably one of our favourite uses for it.

Cleaning And Care

Cleaning and taking care of this dildo is extremely easy, although it is worth noting that this toy is made from that particular type of silicone that attracts dust, hair and lint like crazy, so it is probably a good job it cleans up fast and easy.

I use hot water and a mild anti bacterial soap.

The one area where I pay particular attention is those tiny scratches in the glans. I do worry that bacteria could get trapped in these tiny gouges.

Stick to using water based lubricant with the Cadet, as silicone bonds with silicone and using a silicone lubricant could potentially damage the surface of this dildo.

Summary

Overall, the Cadet is a pretty good dildo. Not one of my favourites, but I am certainly not disappointed in adding this dildo to my collection.

In my opinion it works best as a pegging dildo, but the flared base makes it versatile enough to play with it in lots of different ways.

It isn’t perfect and I would personally flatten the coronal ridge a little, to lessen the popping sensation it causes, but not everyone would agree as some enjoy this sensation. I would also prefer that the tiny grooves in the glans were smoothed out.

Other than that, I enjoyed it. The Cadet would suit those among you who are looking for a dildo of average proportions, with a realistic look and a softer, squishier feel.
