Minna Limon Vibrator Review

Minna Limon Vibrator Review

Minna Limon Vibrator Review, June 2021

The Minna Limon Vibrator was kindly sent to me from Lovehoney, for an honest review and I have been looking forward to reviewing this sex toy ever since I read Dangerous Lilly’s review on it in Dec 2013.

Lilly described the Limon’s vibrations as being “Very, very good” I wondered if the Limon would be the one to knock the We-Vibe Tango and We-Vibe Touch out of my top spots.

Product Information And Operation

The Minna Limon is a palm-sized external stimulator, designed mainly for clitoral use, but it can also provide stimulation to other erogenous zones, such as the penis, nipples or perineum. It measures 3 inches in length, with a circumference of 6.5 inches around the largest section of the toy.

As you can probably tell, the Limon is designed in both size and shape to resemble a small lemon. The Limon is coated in a silky soft silicone that reminded me of Lelo silicone.

It only has a small amount of drag and it does not attract dust, hair or lint. The silicone is of a high quality, being completely odourless and body safe. Other features are that the Limon is rechargeable and completely waterproof.

What initially drew me towards the Limon (Aside from Lilly’s review) was the fact that it came with technology that I had not experienced before.

Following the fruity theme, Minna refer to this technology as ‘squeeze technology’ and aside from being a cute play on words (Fresh squeezed) this is an accurate description of how the Limon functions.

Most vibrators use buttons to control the speed or pattern settings, but the Limon does not have any pre-programmed settings to click through. Instead, the user controls the speed and pattern of the vibrations by squeezing the sides of the vibrator.

The strength of the vibrations are controlled by how hard you squeeze, so light touches will produce gentle vibrations and harder squeezes will cause the Limon to vibrate at its full intensity. The Limon allows you to create your own setting as you go along, producing pulses, waves and any other design that pleases you at the time.

Now, not everyone can, or even wants to squeeze their sex toys for 20 minutes solid, so Minna created the recorded mode, to ensure that the Limon can be used without the user having to continuously squeeze it. The recorded mode allows you to record your favourite pattern and lock it into the memory so that the Limon can play this pattern back continuously.

The Limon has just one operating button and pressing it once will turn the Limon on. The Limon will always begins in manual (Squeezy) mode. You simply start squeezing it to start the vibrations. Pressing the operating button a second time will switch the Limon into ‘recording mode’ and you can begin squeezing the Limon to create your own unique setting.

The Limon can record up to 10 seconds of play (If you attempt to record a pattern that is longer than 10 seconds, the Limon will simply record the last 10 seconds of your setting only). Once you have created your pattern, you simply press the operating button for a third time, to lock that pattern into the memory. The Limon will then repeatedly play that pattern back to you and you no longer have to squeeze it.

My Experiences With The Minna Limon

During my first session with the Limon, I experimented with the manual mode and discovered that the Limon is extremely reactive to even the lightest of squeezes.

I did not have to squeeze the sides too hard before I had reached the highest speed, which was a good thing, as it reduced the possibility of hand cramp kicking in too soon.

The problem with it being so reactive though, is that I thought the Limon only had two speeds, because anything more than the lightest of touches had it vibrating at top speed.

I eventually discovered other speeds, by squeezing the Limon firmly and very gradually loosening my grip, which created a wave pattern as it moved down through each speed. You do have to become quite adept at making very slight changes to your grasp, in order to benefit from the middle settings.

The manual mode is certainly a lot of fun and I highly recommend handing the Limon to a partner, who can create their own patterns as they use it on your body, which leaves you in suspense, not knowing what to expect next.

Unfortunately though, it was during my experiments in manual mode that something else jumped out at me. The Limon would not vibrate as strongly in manual mode as it did in recorded mode.

The reason for this is that the Limon suffers from dampened vibrations and the simple act of squeezing the sides, causes the vibrations to dampen quite significantly, to the point where I felt I could not reach orgasm while in manual mode.

Thankfully, in recorded mode, you do not have to squeeze the Limon and the vibrations in this mode were much stronger, fantastically deep and rumbling. I also discovered that the Limon did a very good job of picking up pulses, waves and on-off patterns and seems to be quite accurate in recording what you requested.

The Limon did not knock the We-Vibe toys from their top spot on my favourites list, simply because the Limon is slightly less pin-point, and therefore feels a little less intense overall. The vibrations are not quite as deep and rumbling as they are on my We-Vibe Tango, but I tell you what, they are pretty close.

The Limon’s vibrations are what I would describe as extremely satisfying, being deeper and more rumbly than about 80% of my entire vibrator collection and in recorded mode, those vibrations took me from A to orgasm in mere minutes, which is rare for me.

The Limon provides both pin point and broad stimulation, depending on how you use it. You can lay the side of the Limon across your vulva, to provide a diffuse stimulation across your vulva, or you can use the tip for more pin point accuracy.

The tip is almost as pin point as a bullet vibrator and I found it reasonably easy to use for pin point stimulation, but I did notice a potential problem with the way the Limon is designed. See, the Limon’s tip measures less than half an inch long, before it suddenly begins to widen again, to form the main body of the vibrator.

Now, I have an easily exposed clitoris, which is visible when I open my legs. My labia are also quite small. I can imagine that women with plump labia, or a buried clitoris, may not get to experience pin point stimulation alone, because as you insert the small tip between your labia, the main section of the Limon will begin to press against your labia majora and this will provide a broader stimulation.

The last thing I wanted to mention was discretion. The Limon’s vibrations produce a sound that I would describe as ‘middling’ It is not a whisper quiet vibrator and it has a tendency to make some louder noises, depending on how you grip and squeeze it, but in saying all this, I could not hear it vibrating through a closed door and my duvet managed to drown out most of the noise, so I would be confident using it with others in the house.

Downsides

Most sex toys have a few little niggles and although I liked the Limon overall, it does have its own potential issues. First of all, the Limon is a small vibrator and is designed without a handle, so the user has to essentially hold this vibrator around the section of the toy that vibrates (Hint: All of it vibrates)

When you combine the round, small shape with the silky soft silicone and powerful vibrations, what you end up with is a sex toy that constantly tries to escape out of your grasp. Add lubricant to the mix and it becomes almost impossible to keep a hold on this toy. Another issue, that may affect some more than others, is that the vibrations travel into your fingers and hands. It leaves you with tingling fingers and this may cause discomfort in those suffering with nerve or joint damage/pain.

Other minor issues include the dampening of the vibrations on manual mode (This would have been considered a much bigger problem if it also happened in recorded mode, but because it doesn’t, us power queens still have a way to enjoy the Limon at full strength.), the vibrator getting quite warm during extended (10+ minutes) of play and sometimes, a numbing sensation from the intense vibrations.

Summary

The Minna Limon is an impressive little vibrator. I don’t think it will be suited to everyone and would recommend you avoid it if you cannot stand vibrations travelling through your hands, or have issues grasping small, slippery objects. I would mostly recommend it to pattern lovers.

I really enjoyed the innovative squeeze technology and it functioned as described, allowing me to create my own patterns and have fun with my masturbation sessions.

I think what really won me over in the end though, was the feel of the vibrations. The Minna Limon might be small, but it produces strong, rumbling vibrations that feel great. I would definitely recommend it to others.
