Lux LX3 Prostate Vibrator Review

Lux LX3 Prostate Vibrator Review

Lux LX3 Prostate Vibrator Review, June 2021

I was kindly sent the Lux LX3 prostate Stimulator from Lovehoney for an honest review and I must say we were extremely impressed when this product arrived.

The vibrator comes nestled in a gorgeous black storage box that kind of reminds us of a fancy cigar case and it just oozes luxury.

The Lux LX3 itself looks and feels like a quality sex toy. Having tried a few prostate vibrators before it, we were curious about this new luxury brand called Lux, and how they would compare to the prostate toys we already owned.

I nipped over to their website and discovered that this company make “Toys for the distinguished gentleman” (Read: Expensive, luxurious sex toys.) and that the Lux LX3 is for “The man who needs a change from the ordinary”.

They do have a nice range of prostate toys and cock rings and while my guy is about as far from a “distinguished gentleman” as you could get, he was certainly looking forward to putting this new product to the test.

Product Information

The Lux LX3 is a rechargeable prostate stimulator that has been created using high quality, body safe silicone. It arrives, packaged absolutely gorgeously, in a classy black storage box marketed towards men and comes with a detailed instruction manual and a mains charger (Geeks will love the fact that the plug has interchangeable heads.

This allows the user to charge the Lux LX3 in more than one country.) The Lux LX3 will require a 3 hour (Minimum.) charge when you initially receive it and a full charge will give you roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes of play time, before the battery is drained.

The charging hole is hidden, which allows this vibrator to be completely waterproof. Simply locate the little raised circle of silicone, which is located at the top of the pointed section, and push the charging pin through the silicone. It can feel a little stiff.

The Lux LX3 is reasonably petite. The main shaft (The portion designed to be inserted into the anus) measures 3.5 inches in length and just over 3.5 inches in circumference around the bulbous tip. The perineal massager (The smaller arm) measures just over 2 inches in length and 3.25 inches in circumference around its largest section.

Operation

The Lux LX3 allows the user to control the intensity of the vibrations using ‘push and hold’ technology. It comes with one setting (A continuous vibration mode) but you can decide how powerful it vibrates by simply pressing and holding down the button until you reach your ideal speed, and then letting go. The Lux LX3 only has one button to operate, which means the same button is used to switch the vibrator on and off.

Quick presses will switch the motor off and on again and, as you can imagine, this makes it difficult to ramp up the vibration power in small increments, without accidentally turning the whole thing off. The button, much like the charging hole, is hidden beneath the silicone and if you run your fingers over the base of the LUX LX3, you will feel a raised nub. This is the button. It sits in a reasonably ideal position, allowing easy access to the button when the toy is inserted, but it can be slippery and awkward to control when slippery with lubricant.

The vibrations are quite enjoyable. I would describe them as sitting somewhere between rumbling and buzzy and the Lux LX3 is no wimp, but the vibrations are felt most intensely on the outside of the body. The motor is actually situated inside the perineal arm, rather than the main shaft. Even on top speed, the vibrations are very discreet. I could barely hear it vibrating from underneath the duvet and it is not detectable at all from outside of the bedroom, making it ideal for anyone looking for a very discreet vibrator.

In Use

The Lux LX3 is extremely comfortable to insert. The main shaft is slim enough that we managed to insert it without much warm up at all and because it is completely rigid, it was easy to control and guide inside the body. The silicone doesn’t cause too much drag, although lube is still essential to keep everything sliding smoothly without chafing.

While the main arm has no flex, the perineal arm does and it comes to rest nicely against the perineum as soon as the shaft is inserted. I must admit though, we were both slightly disappointed that the Lux LX3 had been designed with its vibrations on the outside of the body.

It has been designed this way for a reason. The idea is that the two arms combine to provide prostate stimulation, both directly and indirectly. The main arm rests directly up against the prostate, while the perineal arm vibrates against the perineum, sending indirect stimulation from the perineum to the prostate in a sort of, pincer movement of pleasure.

However, my partner has never been a fan of vibrations, or any other stimulation, against his perineum. It’s not that he hates it, but it just doesn’t seem to titillate him that much and he found this powerful vibrator resting up against his perineum to be numbing at times and a distraction from the pleasure he felt inside. He would have found it more intense, and preferable, if the vibrations had targeted his prostate directly.

However, all was not lost, because the powerful motor manages to send subtle but enjoyable vibrations up through the main shaft and although they are not as intense, they do provide a nice, rumbling sensation which intensified when he clenched his muscles around the shaft. Doing this also pushes the bulbous tip up against the prostate.

The Lux LX3 does as it is supposed to do and does it well, but the difference between liking this toy, and absolutely loving it, will depend on your personal tastes. If you really enjoy stimulation to the perineum while playing with your prostate, then I believe this toy will work wonders for you, but if you are looking for a prostate vibrator, a toy that will specifically target those vibrations directly into your prostate, you might actually find the Lux LX3, with its vibrations on the outside, to be a little lacking.

As a prostate stimulator (Vibrating or not.) the Lux LX3 gets top marks from my partner. The overall shape and size were just perfect for him and he found it to be one of the most comfortable prostate massagers he had tried, beating his old favourite, the Fun factory Duke Prostate Massager for comfort and fit (But the Duke has a larger range of vibrations and they feel more noticeable against the prostate.)

I would say that the Lux LX3 would be most suited to anyone new to anal play, as well as more experienced players, looking for a more subtle, gentle stimulator, or a warm up toy. Aside from the initial insertion, there are no stretching sensations or any uncomfortable poking sensations, even during movement.

It has definitely been designed perfectly to just ‘fit’ in place and once inserted, you will not experience many sensations unless you clench around it, or turn the vibrations on. It finds the prostate perfectly too, providing some light pressure and stimulation. Its unintimidating size and subtle internal sensations are the reason I would reason I would recommend it to novices, but if you fancy something more filling, check out the Lux LX3+ instead.

Some other advantages of the Lux LX3, when compared to lots of other prostate massagers, are that the Lux LX3 stays in place very well and can even be worn as a butt plug. It is possible to sit upright and have sexual intercourse while it is inserted and my partner did not experience any discomfort during those times. In fact, it heightened his pleasure during sexual intercourse and he experienced more intense orgasms.

Because it does not slip out, it can even be worn inside your underwear while you go about your business. As a female, I even enjoyed wearing it and feeling the perineal arm sit just at the entrance to my vagina, vibrating away pleasantly.

Summary

The Lux LX3 is an enjoyable prostate massager. Its shape and size make it suitable for anyone requiring a more subtle, comfortable sensation and although it had some personal downsides, (We would have preferred the vibrations to be focused inside the anus and against the prostate, rather than the perineum) it still provided enjoyable sensations against the prostate that intensified his orgasms and was actually nice BECAUSE it wasn’t too intense.

The Lux LX3 has so many great features, being rechargeable, fully waterproof and made from body safe silicone, which makes cleaning and caring for the Lux, a breeze. However, sometimes it is just not quite stimulating enough, and if you are an intermediate to advanced anal player, who enjoys feeling pressure or fullness against the prostate and direct internal vibrations, you may feel similarly. If you prefer subtle sensations and stimulation against the perineum while you play, then the Lux LX3 would be ideal.
