L’Amourose Rosa G-Spot And Prostate Vibrator Review

L’Amourose Rosa G-Spot And Prostate Vibrator Review

When Lovehoney contacted me to ask if I would like to review the L’Amourose Rosa, I had to go do some Googling.

I had not heard of L’Amourose, before and had no idea what the Rosa was. I soon found L’Amourose online and discovered that they are designers of luxury sex toys.

Their classy designs and colour options really appealed to me too. I took a look through the images of the Rosa, becoming more intrigued and excited about testing this unique sex toy.

I had not experienced anything quite like it before. I was also looking forward to discovering a new company and hoping that their products would not just impress me with their looks, but with their function and quality too.

Product Details

The L’Amourose Rosa is primarily an internal vibrator, designed to stimulate either the g-spot or prostate, but it can also be used as a dual stimulator.

The Rosa has two vibrating motors; one sits inside the main shaft and the other is inside the flat base. Females can therefore experience dual stimulation by inserting the shaft and allowing the base to rest against their vulva.

The Rosa comes with all the features you come to expect from a luxury sex toy. It is waterproof, rechargeable and has an 18 month warranty.

One feature, described as “Flex and shift technology” on the L’Amourose website, left me chuckling when I came to the realisation that this was simply a flexible silicone shaft.

I had imagined “flex and shift technology” to be something much more technical.

Aside from this flexibility at the base of the shaft, the Rosa is completely rigid throughout. Similar to Lelo products, the Rosa is coated in a matte silicone skin, so there is no squish to the shaft at all.

While reading through the product specification on the L’Amourose website, I noticed that they described their silicone as “Phthalate free, FDA approved materials” which told me very little. Still, I was reasonable confident the Rosa would be made from body safe silicone, due to its price tag and its luxury branding.

While reading through the product specification on the L’Amourose website, I noticed that they described their silicone as “Phthalate free, FDA approved materials” which told me very little. Still, I was reasonable confident the Rosa would be made from body safe silicone, due to its price tag and its luxury branding.

I am still confident it is made from silicone, but have some doubts to its quality because the surface does have a very feint rubbery smell, which has not faded in the past four weeks. (I can only detect this odour when I hold the Rosa directly under my nose). My high grade silicone sex toys (Lelo, Tantus.) are completely odourless.

The Rosa is rechargeable. It comes with a mains charging dock (No USB charging option) and to charge, you simply sit the Rosa on the charging dock, ensuring the metal pins are aligned. A full charge will allow you roughly 3 hours of play time on medium speed. The Rosa also has a low battery indicator. When the lights flash during use, it’s time to charge.

The two motors cannot be operated independently. Instead, you have 7 different vibration modes to choose from, some which include both motors and some which use only one. From what I can tell (I did not receive a manual) they are as follows:

  1. 1
Continuous speed from both motors. Deep and throbbing.
  2. 2
Continuous speed from both motors. Less deep and throbbing.
  3. 3
Continuous speed from the base motor. Shaft motor is switched off
  4. 4
A pulsing vibration that jumps between the two motors.
  5. 5
A faster pulsing vibration that jumps between the two motors.
  6. 6
Both motors on a wave vibration pattern.
  7. 7
Both motors on a completely random vibration pattern.

As well as having 7 different patterns to choose from, you can also choose from 12 speed settings and you can change the speed (or intensity) within each of the 7 settings. Unfortunately, the Rosa does not have a memory function and so it will always begin on setting 1 at the lowest speed.

To switch the vibrator off altogether, you need to hold down the minus button for 3 or 4 seconds, which is not ideal if someone has just burst into your room mid use. Luckily though, the vibrations are reasonably quiet, even at top speed. I would not describe it as silent, but it was discreet enough that I couldn’t hear it when I placed it under a duvet and moved to the opposite side of the room.

Our Experiences With The L’Amourose Rosa

The oddly shaped, curved shaft did worry me initially, but insertion was comfortable.

The Rosa seemed to find my g-spot effortlessly and although I could occasionally feel a subtle grinding behind my pubic bone (caused by the oddly shaped shaft when I was not fully aroused) it was not nearly as bad as I had expected it to be.

Once I became aroused, this sensation would fade and I could thrust with the Rosa.

As mentioned, the Rosa has been designed to be used as a dual stimulator, but it only took one session to realise that this feature would not work for me. I am a power queen and unfortunately, the vibrations coming from the base of the Rosa were just too shallow and too broad.

With any other dual stimulator, I would have considered this to be a deal breaker, but before I could feel any disappointment, the Rosa had already begun to redeem itself.

Within minutes it was pleasing me so much that I would actually rave about it on Twitter the next day:

Reviewing a toy by a company called L’amourose. Hadn’t heard of them before but I LOVE their Rosa. So, so powerful! April 7, 2014

What pleased me so much were the vibrations from the main shaft. These vibrations began as a gentle rumble at low speeds and built up in intensity with every click of the power button until it had reached maximum speed.

At this point, the vibrations felt powerful, deep and rumbling, but they also had another quality that began to put all my other g-spot vibrators to shame. It felt like the Rosa was ‘tapping’ lightly against my g-spot. This rhythmic tapping felt gentle, but also incredibly fast and when combined with the rumbling vibrations, I was in heaven.

The sensations were amazing. The only slight downside was with the flexibility of the shaft. This really helped in regards to comfort, but it did occasionally work against the Rosa, as I could only apply moderately firm pressure to my g-spot.

The Rosa did not work for me as a dual stimulator, but one advantage to having gloriously powerful vibrations in the main shaft was that I could use this to stimulate my clitoris. I could even feel the tapping sensation and the overall power and sensation was enough to produce clitoral orgasms, despite the fact that the main shaft is not quite as pin point as I’d prefer.

It takes a little longer to get there with the Rosa, compared to my favourite bullet vibrator, but the point is, it does get me there and I am incredibly fussy with clitoral stimulation, needing intense power and depth too.

Anal Use

You don’t have to take my word for it though, as the Rosa also impressed my partner. He enjoys prostate vibrators and decided to experiment with the Rosa.

He inserted it from a cold start (He was not aroused before he began) and once inside, he switched on the vibrations. I sat back and watched as the Rosa took him to a full blown prostate orgasm within minutes. He reached orgasm and ejaculated, without touching his penis at all. This was a first for him and he is no stranger to prostate vibrators.

Clearly there is something special about the Rosa. It has quality to its vibrations; a quality that provides an intensely pleasurable sensation.

Before you get too excited, there are some things to note regarding anal use. Firstly, I would not recommend the Rosa to beginners.

My partner has a few years experience (and has a preference towards slimmer toys anyway) but he did find that the Rosa was verging on his limits of comfort, with regards to depth and overall circumference.

It is also worth noting that the round base can become a little uncomfortable when wedged between your bum cheeks for a while and it is not comfortable to sit on.

Downsides

Aside from the downsides previously mentioned, both my partner and I had issues with the operating buttons. The Rosa has those small, ‘invisible’ buttons that sit beneath the silicone material. A few raised marks on the silicone are the only indication of where these buttons sit.

When the vibrator is between your legs, it is almost impossible to distinguish between the three buttons and change settings or speeds.

This means having to remove it and have a close look every time you fancy a change, or alternatively, just taking a wild stab in the dark. In the same regard, it is also difficult to find, press and hold down the minus button to turn off the vibrations after orgasm, so instead of laying back and relaxing after an intense orgasm, you find yourself having to remove it quite fast as your body becomes hyper sensitive and you can’t turn it off.

Summary

My partner rates the Rosa as his favourite prostate vibrator. I rate the Rosa as my favourite g-spot vibrator. When two sex toy reviewers both rate the same toy so highly, it’s probably fair to say this toy is extremely good. Of course, the Rosa is not perfect and some of its features (dual stimulation) failed to work for me.

There were also some things I found frustrating about it (Those buttons), but when we were sprawled on the bed, feeling those glorious vibrations and experiencing some powerful orgasms, neither one of us seemed to mind quite so much about the things it couldn’t do.

So here’s my opinion; avoid the Rosa if your primary desire is to experience dual stimulation, or if you need a dual stimulator that provides deep rumbling vibrations from both motors. If this is what you want, I would most likely recommend the Swan Whooper instead.  If you are looking for an intense g-spot vibrator or prostate stimulator however, then the L’Amourose Rosa would be ideal.
