Fun Factory ShareVibe Strapless Strap-On Review

Fun Factory ShareVibe Strapless Strap-On Review June 2021

I was kindly sent the Fun Factory ShareVibe from lovehoney.co.uk for an honest review

It is probably evident from my large collection of strap-on harnesses that my partner and I like to indulge in strap-on sex.

However, strap-ons come in many different styles and the ShareVibe would be our first experience with a strapless strap-on.

I have often been curious about this type of harness, but have avoided purchasing them due to concerns that they might be more difficult to use.

On top of this, I am quite fussy. With most harness types, I could choose which dildo to use and even swap them for smaller or larger toys as our experience, or needs changed.

You cannot do this with a strapless strap-on, so it was much more important that I found one that was made from high quality, body safe materials and that matched our needs as closely as possible.

When I first saw the Fun Factory ShareVibe, I was excited. I have had the Fun Factory Share (Very similar to the ShareVibe, only without the vibrating aspect) on my “must try” list for over a year and discovering that Fun Factory had made a vibrating version?

Awesome. I was drawn to the overall shape and size of the ShareVibe because it looked ideal for intermediates; not too big, not too small and most importantly for us, not too textured. Of course, I was also drawn to the fact that Fun Factory use pure silicone to create this sex toy.

Silicone is free from all irritating chemicals and is virtually non-porous, which is great considering this product would be used for anal play.

Product Information

The Fun Factory ShareVibe is a vibrating strapless strap-on. For those curious as to how it works, the smaller, more curved shaft is designed to be inserted and held still inside the vagina.

With this part inserted, the longer, thinner shaft should protrude out from between your legs. You can then use this end to penetrate your partner with.

This means that the Fun factory share is most suited to f/m and f/f couples. It could potentially be used by two males, with one wearing it anally, however, there might be issues with reach, or your own genitals getting squashed or just in the way during play.

The ShareVibe arrived in some gorgeous looking packaging (see my images). I won’t bore you with details, but I thought it looked classy and sophisticated; exactly as you’d expect from a high end sex toy.

The ShareVibe is a vibrating sex toy, but it reminded me a lot of Fun Factory Duke).

This bullet contains 5 different vibration modes; 1 continuous speed and 4 pattern settings and because it can be removed from the base, you don’t have to leave the entire ShareVibe lying on your bedside table during charging. It also allows you to use the bullet as a separate sex toy if you wished.

Like most Fun Factory products, the ShareVibe uses “click and charge” technology. This simply means that the charger is magnetically attracted to two pins on the vibrating bullet.

When the two come into contact, they ‘click’ together and the toy begins to charge. I personally find that the Fun Factory magnets are stronger than, say, We-Vibe’s, so the contact doesn’t break as easily. For anyone wondering, the ShareVibe comes with a USB charging cable.

The ShareVibe itself is made from 100% platinum silicone, which is odourless, has a reasonable amount of flex (see images) and is matte to the touch. In my opinion, Fun Factory sits somewhere in between Tantus and Lelo silicone, in regards to feel.

Fun Factory silicone is slightly less ‘draggy’ than Tantus’ shiny silicone, but more so than Lelo’s silky soft silicone.

My Experience With The Fun Factory ShareVibe

My first few attempts using the ShareVibe were disastrous. As soon as I fully inserted the smaller shaft, I had to remove it as I was experiencing a burning pain and intense pressure against my urethra and anterior wall/g-spot area.

Problem is, I have a chronic pain condition which does sometimes effect the nerves in and around my vagina. During flare ups, I can’t use the ShareVibe as it is just too intense for me.

Thankfully, the intense pain passed, but the ShareVibe never did feel entirely comfortable to wear unless I was highly aroused before I began using it.

The smaller shaft is by no means huge, but it has a reasonable circumference and that, combined with its severe backwards curve, caused the bulbous tip to press firmly into my g-spot area.

This was a constant sensation and yes, it felt great when my g-spot was warmed up and ready for action. At all other times, it was vaguely uncomfortable. If you are particularly sensitive to pressure against the anterior wall of your vagina, you might experience similar.

During those sessions where I could wear the ShareVibe comfortably, I began to experiment with positions. I initially tried doggy style, but try as I might, I could not hold the ShareVibe inside me unless gravity was working in my favour.

As soon as I knelt, or stood up, the shaft would slide out of me easily and considering the weight of this toy, it’s no wonder really. I did discover that I could clamp my thighs shut, effectively holding it in, but this felt rather awkward at best.

We decided to stick to more horizontal positions instead. There were two positions that did work well; spoons and him on top. In these positions, I could easily keep my shaft inserted for the duration of the session.

However, I have to say I still wasn’t over-keen. Yes, I could feel the bulbous tip rocking back and forth into my g-spot as he moved, or as I thrust, but I didn’t find this very pleasurable; if anything, it was vaguely annoying.

I guess I learned something about myself when using the ShareVibe; during strap-on play, I prefer to focus entirely on his pleasure and can do so much easier if I don’t have something inside me at the same time.

His Experiences With The ShareVibe

Unlike me, my partner actually really enjoyed the ShareVibe. The penetrating shaft is gently curved, relatively slim line and free from intense textures, which was an almost perfect match for his tastes.

As an intermediate, he needed only a little warm up before being able to comfortably insert the ShareVibe and as soon as he got used to it, I could thrust without causing overly intense sensations. He described the ShareVibe as one of the more comfortable thrusting dildos, as well as one of the most pleasurable.

He could even build towards prostate orgasm, as the slightly curved shaft ensured this area was stimulated.

The Vibrations

If you own any silicone sex toys that can be turned into a vibrator by inserting a bullet into the base, you probably already know what I am going to say. Yep, the silicone dampens the vibrations.

Because there is so much silicone between the tips of each shaft and the bullet, the vibrations you feel inside feel more ‘teasy’ than intense.

Of course, they feel nice and definitely add another layer to the sensations felt, but they were not what I would describe as mind blowing, or intense. I suppose it didn’t help that the protruding nub, designed to provide clitoral stimulation, didn’t cover my clitoris.

Using the bullet on its own though? Well, that’s a much more orgasmic experience. The vibrations provided are split equally between buzzy and rumbly.

While I wasn’t so keen on the buzzy vibrations, I found that it produced just enough power and depth to take me to orgasm most of the time.

Summary

There is definitely a learning curve to using strapless strap-ons and I don’t think I am ready to trade the support provided by traditional harnesses.

The benefits to using a strapless strap-on is that the both of you can be stimulated at the same time and if that sounds like something you would enjoy, then this ShareVibe might be ideal.

Of course, if you are more like me and prefer to put your full focus into what you are doing, you might find the constant g-spot prodding to be more of a distraction than a pleasure.

I had a mixed bag of experiences with the ShareVibe. Some days I enjoyed the sensations, other days I longed to step into a strap-on harness to avoid feeling this shaft inside me.

Despite my ups and downs, I would definitely recommend the ShareVibe, but only if:

  • You know that you can comfortable handle regular sized dildos
  • You enjoy (or don’t mind) firm pressure against your g-spot
  • You can accept that some positions might be very difficult to achieve while wearing it.

The ShareVibe is a high quality sex toy. I certainly have no issues with its quality or design, but I do believe it is something of an acquired taste. If you long to both feel stimulated at the same time, or want to feel closer and more connected with your lover, it might be the best choice for you. However, if you want more control and less distraction during your strap-on sessions, you might be best opting for a different style of strap-on instead.
