Comparing Tantus’ Silicone Spanking Paddles, July 2021

I’ve been so busy this month, that Mr Gritty’s arse has gone un-spanked. Thankfully, Tantus gave me the perfect opportunity to get back into the swing of things, by sending me the full range of Tantus silicone spanking paddles.

In this comparison review, we will take a look at all 5 paddles, including the Plunge, the Thwack, the Pelt, the Snap Strap and the Wham Bam.

I own a number of sadistic spanking implements, but one of the meanest in my collection is the Tantus Plunge Paddle. I reviewed the Plunge paddle last year and I loved how efficient it could be.

A small flick of the wrist was enough to redden his skin and make him squirm. These silicone paddles are certainly not for the faint hearted.

It wasn’t just the sensations that pleased me though; there are other benefits to choosing a pure silicone paddle. One of the greatest is that they can be sterilized, either with a 10% bleach solution, or with boiling water.

This is important if you like to share your spanking tools. Tantus silicone is very high quality, which means it is also virtually non-porous. Unlike leather and suede, the Tantus paddles will not absorb body fluids, oils or other lubricants. With minimal care, they will look as good as new for a very long time.

The Tantus Pelt Paddle

The Pelt is a reasonably short paddle with an oval shaped spanky end. It measures 11.5 inches in total length and 3.1 inches in width across the widest point. The spanky end measures 0.2 inches thick.

The Tantus Thwack Paddle

The Thwack paddle is short, boxy paddle with a large spanky end. Much like the Pelt, it measures 11.5 inches in total length, with a 3.1 inch width across the rectangular spanky end. It also has a silicone thickness of 0.2 inches.

The Thwack most closely resembles the Plunge paddle. The only difference between the two is the shape of their handles.

The Tantus Plunge Paddle

The Plunge paddle is another short, boxy paddle that closely resembles the Tantus Thwack (the Thwack and the Plunge have the same sized/shaped spanky end).

The Plunge differs from all the other Tantus paddles, because it has a rounded handle with a bulbous tip. You can use this handle for penetration (vaginal and anal) if you so wished. Essentially, the Plunge is two toys in one; a spanking paddle and a dildo.

The Tantus Wham Bam Paddle

Measuring 15 inches in total length, the Wham Bam is longer than the Thwack and the Pelt. It also has a slimmer spanky end, which measures 2 inches wide. The thickness of the spanky end is 0.2 inches.

The Tantus Snap Strap Paddle

The Snap Strap is the longest and most flexible of all the Tantus paddles. It measures 17.5 inches in total length and 2 inches in width across the spanky end.

The Snap Strap differs from all the other paddles in that the spanky end is thinner. At just 0.1 inches thick, the Snap Strap’s spanky end is very flexible. It reminds me of using a belt.

All five paddles are made from a plush, matte silicone. This silicone is so much silkier than the silicone Tantus use to create their dildos (even the matte ones, like the Tantus Adam), so it glides over the skin nicely, creating very little drag.

Finally, all the paddles contain a hole in the handle, which allows you to hang the paddles after use.

Choosing Your Tantus Paddle

When you are shopping for a spanking implement, it is worth remembering that different materials produce different sensations. If you have never tried a silicone paddle before, you are definitely in for a treat.

All of the Tantus paddles pack a punch, but they don’t all feel the same. If you enjoy surface level sensations, the slimmer, thinner paddles are a great choice. The Snap Strap and Wham Bam will leave your skin feeling hot and tingly, but they won’t cause too much discomfort to the underlying tissues.

If you prefer a deeper, buttock shaking spank, the chunkier paddles would be more suited to you. The Thwack, Pelt and Plunge all have a little more weight to them, so they produce a decent thump to go along with that fiery nip to the skin. To me, these larger paddles feel similar to getting spanked by hand, but harsher.

In my opinion, the harshest paddles are the ones with the chunkiest spanky end. The Thwack and the Pelt can feel very intense, because they combine those deep, thumping spanks with a harsh sting to the skin. The Wham Bam is next on the list, closely followed by the Snap Strap.

For some reason, I expected the Snap Strap to be the most intense paddle in the Tantus collection, but it actually turned out to be the mildest in terms of pain. This might make the Snap Strap the most obvious choice for beginners, but be warned, it is the most difficult paddle to control. The spanky end is very flexible/floppy, so it is often difficult to rain down the spanks one after the other. With the Snap Strap, you also run the risk of whip round (similar to using floggers) which can cause intense burning sensations to one small area of skin.

I wouldn’t describe any of the Tantus paddles as gentle, but out of the five, the thinner ones produced a little less sensation. Of course, it really depends on how you use them. A gentle swat will produce a mild, tingling warmth, whereas a hard slap can really take your breath away.

Summary

In my opinion, the Tantus paddles are most suited to those looking to take impact play to the next level. If you have experimented with suede or leather implements and still crave more intensity, then these are the paddles for you.

Beginners will still enjoy these paddles, but I do recommend testing them on yourself first, to get a feel for how much they sting.

Each paddle is capable of producing a light tingle, but they can seriously ramp up in intensity as you swing harder.

As well as the enjoyable sensations these paddles provide, I also love the fact that they are made from such a high quality, body safe material. Being made entirely from silicone, each paddle is incredibly durable.

They are not going to fall apart on you like some spanking implements can do. I was also impressed at just how easy these paddles are to look after. I never had to worry about them absorbing fluids, so I could use them on oiled up skin and even on erogenous zones without fear that I was damaging my paddles.

I have had my Plunge paddle for a year now and it still looks as good as the day it arrived. This tells me just how well made the Tantus paddles are. In my opinion, the Tantus paddles are among the best and I highly recommend them to anyone interested in impact play.
