Spunk Lube Pink Review

Spunk Lube Pink Review, June 2021

I first heard about Spunk Lube on Twitter. Spunk Lube, as the name suggests, is an original, award-winning (TLA video award: Favourite sex toy/accessory) product that is designed to look and feel similar to cum.

Since its popularity took off, Jeff (The guy behind the lube.) added a couple more lubricants to his range including Spunk Lube Pink which is basically Spunk Lube, colored pink. I was interested.

Pink Lubricant? Really? I didn’t quite know if I loved the idea or just found it strange but I was definitely intrigued.

I popped over to spunklube.com for a better look and actually found the product appealing. (This was mildly shocking for me as I am not usually a fan of the color pink.) Something about this lube made me want to try it.

Maybe the novelty factor or just because it was something completely different, either way, I wanted it and after speaking to Jeff (Lovely guy, very helpful and friendly) about his products, he offered to send me some samples of his award-winning lubricant. to test and review. I couldn’t wait.

Packaging And Product Description

My package arrived very swiftly considering it was shipped from America. (5/6 days. Impressive) and it was packaged discreetly and very well.

I ripped into the packaging and discovered I had been sent samples of Spunk Lube original, Spunk Lube Pink and Spunk Lube Silicone so I had the opportunity to see the differences and comparisons between each of these products.

Spunk Lube Pink is available in large 236ml bottles and is extremely good value for money per bottle. If you buy 2 or more bottles you get a discount too.

Bonus. The bottles are plastic and have a pop cap lid which can either be unscrewed entirely or popped up for a more direct flow.

The labelling is not discreet and I wouldn’t want to leave this on my night table if I expected visitors.

A large black sticker surrounds the bottle and the name of the product (Spunk) is clearly visible in bright pink, capital letters up the side. (See pictures.)

I think it’s pretty funky and quite cool but I wouldn’t leave the bottle in plain sight. Spunk Lube Pink is a hybrid lubricant which means it does contain some silicone. I read on the label that it is still safe to use with silicone toys.

I do not usually risk it with hybrids and would prefer to stick to water based lube with silicone toys but I have not heard of anyone having problems with Spunk Lube and I did try it on one of my least favourite silicone toys without it causing any damage.

I leave the choice to you. This lubricant is also advertised as being “Non staining” and I had my doubts (Well, it is a red dye after all and dyes are well known for their …dying properties.) so I ran a test.

I put a big blob of Spunk Lube Pink onto some white cotton (Panties…Don’t judge.) and left it for 24 hours to really sink in. I then hand washed the item to see if I could remove the pink tinge. As you can see from my pictures, the pink stain vanished, so it does hold true to its word.

Ingredients

  • Cyclopentasiloxane: A type of silicone commonly used in hair and skin products. It is used as a binding agent and lubricant as well as helping retain water and add a shine to the skin.
  • Cyclohexasiloxane: Same as above Dimethicone: Another silicone based polymer, FDA approved and used to make products more spreadable, like lotions and creams and of course, lubricants.
  • Propylene Glycol: Used as a preservative as well as being used to keep things moist, this ingredient is generally considered safe by the FDA.
  • Hydroxymethyl cellulose: Used as a gelling or thickening agent. FDA approved.
  • Methylparaben: Used as a preservative and anti fungal agent. Generally considered safe but it can cause reactions in some people with paraben allergies.
  • FD and C Red 40: Used to colour the lubricant. It is a red dye. Water

In use

First let me point out that the pink colouration of this lubricant is not as vivid in person as it looks on the website and I would describe it as ‘baby pink’ rather than a vivid fuchsia pink.

So the colour does vary slightly from what is seen on the website. (Not hugely, but noticeably.)

Still, the pink colour is attractive and unique and I was very impressed with the look of this lubricant.  As for viscosity, Spunk Lube Pink sits somewhere in the middle when compared with other popular brands of lubricant.

When I squirt some onto the back of my hand it will hold a round bubble shape for quite some time and rather than run fast, it slowly dribbles down a slope. Not too thick, not too thin, very nice indeed.

The lubricant stays where you want it without running all over the place but it is also wet and slippery enough to not dry out super fast. Perfect. Well almost perfect.

This lube does have a feint PVA glue smell and a bitter, glue like taste so it isn’t great for oral sex.

I do hear that Spunklube.com are looking into producing an edible and natural lubricant in the near future so keep your eyes peeled. I find that, once applied, Spunk Lube Pink stays slippery and wet for a decent amount of time and doesn’t often need to be re-applied.

This could have something to do with it being a hybrid lubricant or just because its good. Probably both. Like any water based lube, it WILL dry up at some point, but a little goes a long way. On the occasions that it does dry up (Those long indulgent sessions) it can be reactivated with water.

So, does it feel like spunk? No it feels like a decent quality lubricant to me. I personally find cum can have a bit of a greasy texture and isn’t as slippery, so the fact that Spunk Lube doesn’t replicate the feeling of cum is a good thing in my opinion.

Overall

Spunk Lube Pink is a good quality lubricant for a reasonable price. It lasts a long time and I love the uniqueness of this product. It did not cause any irritation or reactions and I am very sensitive to irritants.

If you suffer reactions to parabens I would avoid this lube but other than that its funky, fabulous, and priced very fairly. It only loses a few marks for taste and that (feint) smell so 8/10 Coming soon: My reviews for Spunk Lube Original and Spunk Lube Silicone as well as a comparison video of all three.
